Default ASROCK 939NF4G-VSTA Dual Channel Problem

    Specs are as follows:

    Athlon 64 3000+
    Asrock 939NF4G-VSTA
    1GB Memory (2 x Kingston 512MB DDR PC400)
Currently using onboard VGA Geforce 6100 128mb shared
    80GB Seagate Barracuda

Just wondering why even with the same memory types, dual channel is not enabled. Is it because the RAM is shared? Anybody using this board and experience the same problem?

Did you install both ram modules on the same colored slots? blue and blue or black and black.. if you already did there could be a bios detection problem.
try clearing your bios via jumper and check again. or try the other slot set.

according to the page 14 of the manual(http://download.asrock.com/manual/939NF4G-VSTA.pdf)
"For dual channel configuration, you always need to install identical(the same brand, speed, size and chip-type) DDR DIMM pair in the slots of the same color."
try the blue slots, if dili gihapon, ang black slots, if dili gihapon check imo DDR basin dili jud pareho

if symptoms persists, consult your pc store technician(under warranty pa na?)

yup im using the same colored slots (blue) and using the same memory (512MB Kingston DDR400). could it be the use of the onboard video that's causing this?

I'm using the older version nga 939nf4g dili Vsta, and wala ko anang problem, when I put in my 2x 512 PQI DDR400 dual channel dayon cya. I started with the onboard vid card and later bought a pci-e nga 6600GT. Wala gyud blema sa dual channel.

The best thing to do is setup sa minimum periferals, onboard tanan, use bios optimum defaults, then try using other ram kay i think the defect/incompatibility is either in the mobo or the ram.
