i have not used a 550d but own a D90. so far, the d90 does everything that i would like. picture quality and the vivid colors are superb

I will go with D90 because of ergonomics
i havent used 550D but it just very similar to 450D of which the grip doesn't fit as good as D90.
D90 got top LCD if you care.
and it got many dedicated buttons plus 2 command dials if you care.
and it think D90 is cheaper now.
but D7000 is a lot better especially the magnesium body + 2 SD slots.

d7000 is still on its way. Singapore even has not been selling D7000 bodies. Hongkong just barely as well.... U.S stocks even are low. Only Kits are available as of late.

Canon user here...I'd go for the D90 as well. D90 handles noise and colors better than any rebel I've tried.

i used to be a canonites...had a 5dmark2 and 40D before with so much L lenses...but for now i have a D90 with 50mm 1.4G lens (one & only lens)..i switch to nikon for practicality... i have nothing against with the canon (specially for the pro level and L lenses)...nikon ko para to get rid from L lenses which i cant resist and keep on buying before...maka buslot bulsa,hahahha
