Gud day!!!

I want to ask some info about this Peachtree Quantum 2007 software

1. How to configure this in windows 2000 server what are the do's and donts
2. what are the possible security risk
3. How to configure DNS in windows 2000 server with windows xp sp2 clients
4. I have found out that when u install the software it would ask u to map the network drive wherein you put your
datafiles and this may lead to security risk is there any ways to accomplish this one without suffering security?
5. does DNS configuration mention above may lead to solve the security problem?

1. do you have any customer support regarding this software? you should look for a certified consultant on this. or someone who have been working this for long time or hire someone who can worked with you.

2. read no. 1

3. So it means you still don't have a domain in your network? or you have an existing domain?

4. you need to setup some standard map drive in your network, as this requires the client to access the same resources such as settings or privileges. configuring NTFS permission or users account permission in your Domain is another way to tighten your security. such as unwanted deleting of files etc...

5. DNS is a part of your network, actually you need to specify a DNS name for your entire network. after configuring win2k as DNS server you need to configure also your DNS client. there's more a lot of things you may add, like DHCP, DFS, Load Balancing, VPN, Volume fault tolerance, etc... but not necessary, depends only on the demand of your network.

if this really a serious software running in your company, I suggest to find someone who is reliable, or perform it in your testing environment.
