^^It's not dead yet, but with the latest AMD-ATI merger... I heard rumours that they gonna call the new company as 'DAM-IT'.

aw, c'mon! Even if the ATI Brand name would go away common sense would tell us all the AMD wouldn't acquire the company just to make midrange and low-end graphics products! Duh! A company as healthy as ATI would not sink to a level what would repress their capabilities. They're not that desperate! Then again, it's too soon to judge anything. Let's wait and see.

huh ? are you sure you understand the post here? the link states that AMD is going to rename ATI to AMD also, so its going to be AMD Radeon.

i'm not sure what you mean but i think your reply gives me the impression we both understood the same.

I'm just reacting what's the big deal if ATI loses it's name? It's not like we're going to lose their technology any time soon.

Does it really matter? ATI doesn't even make cards, just the chipsets. So you can't buy an ATI branded card. Unlike my old ATI on my 386 that was really supposed to have been made by ATI, usually lain ng manufacturer. So whether or not my card is branded ATI or AMD isn't as important as the specs.

^^ATI still do make cards themselves dude (sure they are manufactured somewhere in Taiwan or China like the rest) but they sell them as ATI brands. Check their website. It's nVidia that just makes chips.

Dunno. Last Radeon I looked at was branded PowerColor. And if I look at nVidia's website, I'd think they were making the cards themselves. Last nVidia I got was a Leadtek.
