is a population of 127 Million still small? Even the United States stands at 300 Million. Indonesia is at 200 Million, Philippines has 100 Million. We're all in the top 10 most populous nations on the EARTH.

It's FUTURE. Economic predictions for BRICs, Next 11 and the Philippines in particular says that we will be one of the biggest economies in the middle of the 21'st century along with China and India.

Sorry to include Japan on the future list. They're starting to decline.

    Kon military,

Padaghanay nuon ug anak nga way grado mo numberwan ta ana!!..
ug nga mahimo ta numberwan supplier ug mga domestic helpers ug mail order brides (chatmates na diay ron) sa tibuok kalibutan or padaghanay ug pabahuay pud ug skwaters...
Militarily? Yes we COULD. We've been developing very fast economically and that only means more funds for the Government to modernize and even EXPAND the Armed Forces.

Economically? Yes, WE"RE GONNA BE! The Philippines estimated 100 Million population filled with a huge pool of talented workers will be the ones to drive growth. Dle man sad kaayo worrying atong pop growth kay it is just at 1.6% much on the range near the accepted 1.2% growth suggested for all countries.

    up for this thread. hehehe

i really wonder ngano daghan sa ato mga kababayab fail to see the the problem that there are too many of us, and we are still growing at a rate that economic growth cannot cope up with..

pag moshisgot ta overpopulation.. simplistic and shallow ra kaau huna2x sa uban.. d daw kuno ta overpopulated kay daghan pa yuta wa pa napuy-an..

overpopulation is not about space alone.. it is about the capacity of an area to support a number of people.. (food, water, space, jobs, health services, police services,etc..)

more people = more resources consumed

and also consider the economic state of the philippines. its currently incapable of economic growth to cope with population growth..

the only solution would be to reduce population growth while improving economic growth.. (meeting halfway)...

    ****
corruption? its not the govt officials that are corrupt, its the people who are corrupt, because it is them who put thieves and robbers in power in the first place..

for all the BS against population control by certain religious groups, saying it is against God's will

they are already in violation of God's will of being the Earth's Stewards.. they suck at preserving the environment and quality of life..

nahitabo ni kay ang mga pobre kusog kaau mu daghan.. dili kaapas ang government services sa ila...

actually unfair gani kaau para sa rich, kay ang ila taxes adto padulong sa services to help the poor..

the rich pay more taxes than the poor... yet its the poor who benifit much from these taxes through govt. programs..

technically yes.. there is unequal distribution of wealth in favor of the poor, but the poor cant take advantage of this kay grabe ka taas ila birth-rate...

^How do we enforce population control? Can the gov't afford to give out free pills and condoms to indigents? Bisan mag gamit condoms ug pills, murag dili man siguro na ma afford sa mga pobre uyamot intawon.

Why is this issue has to do with the government and the church ?? Loooooool ...

Do you think it's the gov't/church's fault for couples/partners making babies every year without family planning ?? Do you think it's the gov't/church's fault that they don't have proper education and mostly didn't even graduated high-school ?? Do you think it's the gov't/church's fault that they don't have jobs - that's why they're poor and no money for food and for monthly bills ?? Do you think it's the gov't/church's fault that they are LAZY and rely to gov't food bank if not their spouse ??

    Goooo figure !!!
