Default Practical pa karon nga mopalit ug mobo with DDR2 memory support or mobo with DDR3

Na notice lang nako ang price sa DDR2 memory modules kay ni mahal man. Naka remember pako way back 2009 naka palit ko sa PCQuicbuys ug 1Gb Kingston DDR2 800 tag Php650 ra. Then karon more than 1k naman. Then naa nasad mga motherboard nga LGA 775 ug AM3 mga tag Php 2000+ ra mo support na ug DDR3(especially ECS). Then DDR3 prices as almost the same ra sad sa DDR2.

if you are building a new PC... you should choose a mobo with DDR3 architecture. most probably by the third quarter next year phase out na ang ddr2

+1 ko ani, assemble ka new, e diritso nalan og latest, para dili hasul og upgrade og dili ka maglisud pagita og parts if time maabot maguba na.

sample would be, video card agp
so right now faceout na gyud ang agp lisud na pagita.
so the latest and newest nalan.

Reason why ddr2 is more expensive now is because it is being phased out. meaning companies are making ddr3 in droves because it is the current standard. They are making less ddr2 and to make ddr2 would mean going out of their way to do so. Same reason why ddr1 is so expensive now. If you were the manufacturer would you go out of your way to make ddr1 for the few buyers that remain that still need it or would you rather make ddr3 which has a greater market?
Also, if you had the choice between ddr2 or ddr3, it makes more sense to opt for ddr3 for more upgradeability. If you want to upgrade in the future, you have a better chance of finding ddr3 than ddr2 by that time.

Also regarding performance between ddr2 and ddr3, in all honesty there isn't really a lot in terms of performance boost from the two technologies. The problem with ddr3 is that while it does pull greater frequencies compared to ddr2, the latency also increased. The end result, performance wise, is only a marginal increase of performance compared to ddr2. What makes ddr3 a big improvement though is the power consumption. DDR3 uses far less voltages compared to the old ddr2. this makes ddr3 far more efficient and produce less heat.
