@marius I'm trying to answer your question in the most fair and impartial way. In a personal standpoint, Yes my life is directly affected by Muslims. They affected me in a positive and negative way.

Positive: For almost 15 years now our family business survived because of the muslims. They comprise more than 80% of our base customers. I finished college and got my education because of our family business.

-I was born and raised in Iligan City. Iligan is a unique and perfect example of how muslims, christians, and lumads co-exist and live in harmony with each other. This has been going on since the dawn of 20th century. In my estimate, iligan is 80% christian/bisaya, 15% maranao muslim, and the rest are lumads and indigenous people. I haven't heard of any major conflict between these cultures as far as iligan is concerned. Animosity still exists, though this is normal, all of us tend to discriminate with one another.

-I have many muslim friends. Most of them also grew up in Iligan and are well educated. They would rather want to have more christian/bisaya friends than muslims, i feel they too want to be recognized in our society. Because of that, kusog na sila mang libre nimo if they feel that you accept them. Most of the time mas "christian" pa ila pamatasan kung ikompara sa ato..

-Many people see muslims as traitors. I had the opposite experience. I won't elaborate anymore but their loyalty as friends was tested. They told me, "bay kung naa lang ka sa insakto, ayaw kahadlok, and we don't care if they are muslims as long as our stand is right, we will defend you."

Negative: These radical muslims, separatist groups such as the MILF and lost command groups trying to disrupt the peace in Iligan. Occasional bombings, kidnapping, extortion, etc etc.. Actually the issue with these groups is not about religion per se. They are using the alibis like ancestral domain or just plain extortion for money..

-A best friend of mine fell in love with a muslim girl, nabuntis ang babae, ready na unta sila mag taban (elope). One night on his way home, he was brutally killed. Kabalo mo in muslim culture, particularly sa maranao, its a big NO NO na makipag relasyon ang lalake na dili muslim sa babaeng maranao. It's like you're committing suicide if you do that. Naa na sila tradition na bata pa lang ila mga anak, ila na i buya (pair up) with a son or daughter of another muslim family based on their agreement. In our perception as a modern society, luoy intawon ila mga babae naminyo sa tao nga dili sila na higugma. It's like they are slaves in their old system.

-These uneducated muslims who are sympathetic to the cause of the extremists or radicals. Even though they don't have the true facts on what is going around, hala sige kung unsay gitudlo sa ila Imam na utro pud nga radical, hala sunod nalang. And these people account for a substantial number in their population especially in Mindanao. Naa man gud teaching ang Islam about "pagare" which is "the universal brotherhood among muslims", and when you twist its meaning, mao na diha ang problema.

percentage-wise in your area, how many do you think subscribe to the twisted meaning of "pagare"?

sowing fear and wreaking havoc will not get us anywhere, let us all stand towards one common goal as a country, to prosper and to lead our nation to prosperity no matter what we are , whether christians or muslims alike. though conflicts due to religion exists since the very beginning man tries to understand his belief. Instead, let us pray for each other to live in harmony and peace.

kasabot ko sa gubat sa panahon sa crusades bro pero karon panahona ang inyong religion nagsulti nga mahimo patayon ninyo ang dili mutuo ni mohammed unya malangit mo. ang akong religion does not make a distinction ug muslim ka o pagan ka, ug maka patay ka dili ka maka sulod sa paraiso.

my religion makes me chose. your religion once you're in will not let you go and if you do it is under the pain of death in the hands of your faithful. tell me i'm wrong bro.
who told you that? Yes you are wrong.

you want to know what we teach? browse the net and look for sites that teach the real Islam.

not all mosque are creepy and old and having bad odors flying in the air. Try the Mosques in Dubai, KSA, Singapore, Brunei , Turkey, USA , Europe etc.

yeah they had to apply force to survive the fury of the invading enemies. What kind of Islam course was it? haha. you must be joking.
Yeah, right ... Loooooooool ... Invading enemies?? Are you joking?? That's not what happened during the "Fatah-e-Mubeen" .. How could you have the audacity to turn things the other way around?? Is that what you tell people (non-Muslims) that you people (Muslims) are the "victims" and the religion actually for a good cause?? It's very funny that you're trying to manipulate me as if I'm an uneducated person and don't have a clue of your religion ... Pffffttt !!!!

Your beloved Mohammed the pedophile attacked Mecca for personal pride and revenge !!! Did you know after the invasion, he ordered executions to those who insulted him?? History: from the very beginning, he went to every Jewish communities, and to every Jewish person he met -- presented himself as the legit " Jewish prophet" .. Of course he got negative response, got laughed at, and ridiculed, so then he formed an army and started attacking every Jewish settlement communities without a high regard of human compassion ...

Islam is pseudo-religious political system responsible for widespread oppression, cruelty, and genocide across the world. This religion is NOTHING but slavery and violence. Sooo obvious!!!
