TWO basketball players of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) joined the Philippine Junior NBA Team to Beijing, China.
Renzar Henry Asilum and Patrick Nigel Go are among the eight players from the Philippines who went through a rigorous screening and tryout process held across the country between January and April. This is the reward for the top eight players from among 40 prospects who joined the final tryouts at the Jr. NBA Camp held last April in Manila.
The provincial sessions of the camp, which drew hundreds of players between 12 to 14 years old nationwide, were held in Cebu last January and in other key cities nationwide.
Asilum is part of the SHS-AdC Juniors and Passerelle team, which placed second in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. high school division, while Go is a member of the school’s Passerelle team, which recently won a fourth straight Passerelle championship in the Milo SBP Passerelle twin tournament for Cebu.
In China, they will play the Jr. NBA Chinese team and take part in various Jr. NBA activities such as clinics and outreach programs.
