Newer battery grip will let you use 2AA batteries.
So no need of buying Li-ion specific cam batteries.
Ex. Canon 30D and Canon 400D has different batteries.
With the 2AA Batteries carrier from the batt grip of both cam
will save money & less weight for carrying chargers for both cam.

i just bought MB-D80 Battery Grip for my D80 and it works just fine. nice kaau tanawun ang camera kai nidaku cya plus nicompliment cya sa ako Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 kai damu man ni na lens and bugat so mas ok tanawon run ako D80 with this lens and grip. vertical shutter works properly no issue about it but very sensitive shutter i must say.
