How do i open my .bin file in Ubuntu 10.04

i have this .bin file, its a video actually. i want to play it in ubuntu like i always do it in windows. hinay2x mn ko practice ron ug ubuntu gud...i'm new to linux world ug bisag unsa nako gamit sa mga command nga availble sa internet di mn gyud.hahhaa. basig naa moy mga sayun nga command diha.

Dunno what video players come shipped with Ubuntu since I don't use it, but you can try installing VLC.

I use VLC also but on ISO files only.. I haven't experience BIN file played on my VLC.. but anyways.. try if it works.. if it runs then HURRAY.. if not then let's look for other solution..

murag iburn man tingali na nimo or iconvert man tingali as iso before nimo maextract.

nidownload ka ug CDs from VTC?.
they usually use .bin files for their tuts. ayaw ana kay way klaro ng VTC. not worth man ang sa VTC

lahi man ang VTC kay murag compiled videos mana..

ISO files are like DVD ripped nga g image file lang.. but I'm not talking in general.. mga captain ra duol.. hahahah

hinoon wa pa gyud ko ka suway ug Bin files.. @ts try ug install vlc then try kung mo work ba..

Actually, .bin files can be anything, it doesn't have to be an image, although image na sya kasagaran. It can be an executable file, a video file, audio file, etc. I've tried playing .bin on VLC, pero sa windows lang to.

here is a sample on extracting .Bin files

chmod 700 program file.bin
sudo ./ program file.bin

e.g.
go to your directory first
jerald@jerald-Mobile:~$ cd Downloads

jerald@jerald-Mobile:~/Downloads$ sudo ./GoogleEarthLinux.bin

^ Yes, that's an example of an executable .bin file. Pero sa case ni TS, he's referring to a video file nga .bin ang extension. Mo play ra na dretso sa VLC.
