    Default Tips in Improving Badminton Skills


    Hi there guys,

    I'm inviting everyone to post tips on how to improve your badminton skills. I bet some of you here are enthusiasts of this sport.
    So post your tips on how to do an effective smash, how to strengthen your backhand, footwork etc.

    I know practice makes perfect but learning the correct position will greatly improve your skills and make your badminton experience more intense, plus, you lose more weight...

    Tip #1: Play in a singles match and choose a player better than you.

    Very well said slakker.... no matter how good you hit the ball, it won't matter if you can't go ahead for it...

    How about smashes? How can one improve it?... i see some players hit it so hard, you can barely see the shuttlecock approaching...

    Always wear the right footwear... gum soles... comfortable fit shoes and socks... you don't want to have some dead nails around... or a broken foot or torn achilles heel...

    gamit gyud kaayo nang mga drills pero unfortunately wa na gyud ko makabuhat ana kay mag-duwa ra man diretso...

    Speaking of duwa diretso, it is still best if you can do some stretching before and after playing badminton. This prevents grabe nga pamaol (muscle pain) the next day and prevent muscle injury. You'll never know when your game gets so intense so better start up with stretching.

    not a badminton player here, but i know the basics..

    use your wrist and not your arm.. arm is for lawn, wrist is for badminton..

    there's a sticky thread about badminton, more than 2 years old already. and there are plenty of badminton sites out there. www.baddicts.com, www.badmintoncentral.com, www.pinoybadminton.com.ph. there's even a website for badminton instructionals. and videos too!
