despite all the outrage all over the internet against Smart WI-FI/BRO and the complaints sa DTI and so on, i am tempted to go for this service kay bukid man mi. wala man ang landlines sa atong barangay... Smart Bro would be perfect if it actually works (unlike PLDT WeRoam, which doesn't most of the time).
is anyone using smart bro via the smart base station in pit-os specifically the one in sitio nawanaw? how is your connection bai, please share!

p.s. funny story. i have one cell tower visible from my house about 2 miles in the distance. but no idea if it's smart, globe or sun. they all look the same di ba?
so i took a photo with my digital camera, print it sa Colours 8R size, and showed it to the customer service agent at SMART sa SM. "is this one of yours?" i ask. she starts laughing. apparently she thinks its a joke. anyway i tell her it's in the pit-os area and she then goes off and comes back after about 30 minutes. to her response: "we can't identify it."
ok. fine. so they can't tell if it's one of theirs. fair enough. sometimes it's hard to tell my kids from the neighbors' kids. (no jokes please). anyway, the service rep - i have to admit she was pretty - now asks me if I am near the school. "it's ok near the school!" she says, smiling. well i am about 30 minutes drive by habal2x on winding rough roads from 'the school', presumable some school in pit-os.
ok, mam, how bout you give me a list of your base stations in the talamban area, and i'll check them out one by one. "the location of our base stations is confidential information." huh

"your base stations are confidential?" i splutter. "but they're so big" i add, stupidly. by now i am getting the distinct feeling of an out-of-body experience. this can't be happening!
i take a deep breath and tell her that when i first tried to apply for Smart Wi-Fi i was told i need a line of sight (LOS) to the base station. but how can i tell if i have LOS or not if it's confidential where the base stations are? she just smiles (sympathetically?). "this is surreal" i say. she smiles again and says "can i help you with anything else?"
i swear this is 100% true, it happened today. i then went home, got my binoculars, and did some hiking in pit-os and found that the base station was indeed a smart tower, by asking the local residents living next to it. everyone knows it's a smart tower. duhhhh!!! confidential diay to

smart are so dumb.
