Hey istoryans, do you know the cause sa dogs nga nai heartworm? and how to cure it? our aerican cocker spaniel is positive of heartworm. Vet from CVD told me nga ang maka cure ra daw ani is to have chemo therapy. is there someone here naka suwai sad nga ila dog nai heartworm? unsa inyong g.buhat?

I think treatment is difficult. They mostly recommend prevention by regularly giving your dog tablets, unfortunately many de-worming tablets on the market aren't effective against heartworm and so you have to seek out the more expensive types. I don't understand why pet stores and vets don't just supply the one type that will treat all instead of making the choice complicated.

Hi Reptoid, Vet from CVD recommend me to have my dog treated with chemotherapy. i'm just so scared of what will be the side effects of having such treatment. and it's too much costly, 1 session costs 5k-6k + 860 for the tests sa kidney and liver. she said around 3 sessions daw. so it will cost me around 20k. tho i am willing to spend just to save his life but i dont know on what effects will it give.
nway, i'll just keep you updated on how is he doing and what treatments is he having.

Mau gyud. Wala sad ko idea ani since wla pako try hinaot dili sad maabot ana. I used heartguard na dewormer for prevention sa heartworm. Usually monthly routine ni cya na paghatag

my GR died of heartworm last may of this year.. best thing to do is to give your dog jud para heartworm na vaccine or heartguard..

kuyawa sd anang chemo therapy oi... adto sa laing vet bacn naa na laing pamaagi... mahal bya ang chemo and dili kasugakud ang iro ana... di man gani kasugakud ang tao iro pa kaha...
