does utopia and aquila's conflict have a better reason? my APO brother does not agree that their conflicts are any better though.
That's true, I don't believe and I'm not saying that the reasons behind their conflicts are any better than that of other groups. It's like this, Aquila was the 1st frat. When Utopia was later founded, their hazing was not as bad or as severe as Aquila's, so naturally the mostly rich-kid crowd of Ateneo gravitated to the 'softer' frat and their recruitment was always better than Aquila's. So to counter this, the Aquilans would 'bully' the Utopians to inspire fear. As time went on, Utopia started to fight back and now that's why we see the occasional Aquila-Utopia skirmishes. It's not even that frequent, it's like once a year or thrice at most. Syempre busy sad gud kay daghan tun-anan pero that's really the nature of their 'rivalry'. You can't say that it's a war of epic proportions as it is with some groups, rivalry lang gyud.
I'm not even going to attempt to try and understand the rationale behind the other frats' skirmishes. But that's not my point. What I'm looking at is that bisan tuod naay gamay nga gubot2x mahitabo sa Aquila-Utopia, you know the MAIN reason for their existence, and that is to create a network and to help each other become good lawyers. That is why, as you mentioned, we see most of them in Congress, the Supreme Court, the local government. That is the reason why they are going strong and why no one is asking for their heads. The truth is, after the Lenny Villa incident, the school has banned or does not recognize any frat in the school, and yet they're still there. Murag gipa-gawas lang sa school nga gi-condemn nila ang hazing and the death/violence, but in reality they're secretly rooting for them to continue doing their jobs because the end-result is that if any of them become good lawyers or top-notchers, ang school ra gihapon ang maka-pabor. In all honesty, it's unfortunate but you cannot say the same thing about other frats. I don't mean that in an insulting or demeaning way, I'm just saying that from my personal POV. You can agree or disagree but that's just me.
OT na kaayo, I apologize.
