yeah, say that to Utopia & Aquila Legis; APO & SRB; APB & Sigma Rho who are mostly the people in Malacanang, Senate and Congress right now.

Mas worst pa gani na ang mga exclusive law frats coz they are supposedly more experienced and mature and gikan pa sa mga expensive schools and are at the top levels of philippine society.

why single out TGP & AKP? If you care to check the latest news, dili lang TGP & AKP ang possibly involved.

so let's just wait before we open our mouths because us of now, these are just hearsays and opinions and NOT FACTS.

With all due respect, you cannot put Ateneo's Aquila and Utopia or UP's Sigma Rho in the same category as AKP or TGP. I am an Ateneo Law student and even if the aforementioned frats are involved in some sort of violence or get into skirmishes every now and then they are not driven by the same agendas as AKP and TGP. I think I remember you mentioning in some other thread that your brother is an Aquilan. He might agree with me on this one.

You might argue that I don't have the right to give any comparison because I am not a member of either AKP or TGP but I assure you I've been witness to the history between the two warring groups throughout my stint in college, back from when I was a freshman in USC Main circa 2004 up to 2008. I was a freshman at the time na sila Linti ug si Ja Rule apil atong gubot didto sa Main.

It's sad, but our perception of "Frat" in Cebu is now totally different from what a real "Frat" is. It's funny (or sad) but allow me to share an experience to describe how they look at frats in Cebu. When I first got here, they asked me where I went to HS. I proudly said "Don Bosco". I was surprised that after I gave my answer, they started looking at me differently and quizzically, almost like they were afraid. After a short pause they then asked me, "Are you a GANG (emphasis intended) member? AKP or TGP ka?" I was like, "Do I look like a gang member?" They don't look at Cebu frats as "frats" anymore, they didn't even hesitate to say "Gang". I'm not even exaggerating my story, that's the truth, this really happened.

I am not saying this to bash fraternities in Cebu, but in all honesty, my perception of "Frat" was totally twisted because of what I saw as a college student in Cebu. Aquila Legis was somewhat responsible for me getting into Ateneo Law. Mga bisaya sa Ateneo Law kay Aquila gyud na ang padulngan. But I was very very hesitant and afraid to join the frat because my perception of a frat was senseless violence and as what LytSlpr earlier described "pa-bagets2x nga ka-inom" ra, di mu-sud sa clase kay mag-inom sa swakin or sa dapit Teofel or Nine Holes (Main) or sa bayabasan (TC). After a while, I saw that it was totally different. Only after seeing how Aquila (and even Utopia) go about their business did I see how a fraternity really operated.

I am not pro- or anti-fraternities and I will be the last guy you'll see campaigning to have frats banned or outlawed. But for everyone's sake I hope they shape up and really clean up their ranks.

I don't believe that Lazaga was the real culprit. Come on, gahi-a gud niya, taga-Cebu nag-bar ops ra nya mag-da ug granada or pillbox? Law student pa siya, why put his future plans in limbo by starting a ruckus, in Manila and the Bar exam site no less? From the get-go, it's ridiculous. But since naa man siyay ritual, na-timingan siguro nga nakit-an, siya dayon ang gi-pasanginlan nya gi-kulata dayon. Na-timingan pa gyud na taga-Cebu siya, nya pag-research sa investigators sa possible intent or motive, maka-kita man sila nga "tuod no, naa raba gyuy history nga mag-gubot ang AKP ug TGP sa Cebu." That may very well be the reason why they are not entirely ruling out his possible involvement. I am not one to judge but the history of violence between AKP and TGP was working against him. It is not to single out AKP or TGP but the fact that he is a member of one of the two groups and there is history involved...you get it. The investigating team cannot ignore that glaring information. Yes Springfield might label me as a "Historian" now, but you have to admit it's true to at least some extent.

That is really why our Cebu frats should resolve to really and genuinely make the change to erase this history. I'm not imposing on any of you frat bosses who might be reading this, as what Springfield usually says "Who are you to tell me what to do or how to live my life?" But for the betterment of everyone, hopefully this becomes a reality and this becomes part of the respective groups' agenda during your next general assembly. This is not just about improving the image of frats, this is Cebu in general. You might say image isn't everything, but it's important too.

(BTW, bro LytSlpr your arguments re: fraternities are always good and sensible. Bago2x pa man ko diri sa iSTORYA pero sa akong mga na-basahan so far kay maayo gyud ka, articulate kaayo ba. I'm not kissing your ass, just giving credit where it's due.)

probably, not the same category and probably even not the same agenda and even not the same frequency of skirmishes but for whatever reason, a conflict is a conflict.

does utopia and aquila's conflict have a better reason? my APO brother does not agree that their conflicts are any better though.
