Most Filipinos want impeachment case vs Arroyo revived--poll

(2ND UPDATE) FIFTY-SIX percent of Filipinos want the impeachment complaint against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo revived, saying it is the best way to get to the truth behind allegations of election fraud and corruption, an independent survey released Tuesday showed.

When asked if the impeachment complaint against Arroyo should be restarted, 56 percent said yes while 43 percent said no, according to the Pulse Asia Inc. survey conducted from June 24 to July 8.

The first of a series of impeachment complaints against Arroyo was filed before the House of Representatives last June 26.

The study covered 1,200 respondents nationwide. It has a margin of error of +/-3 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
