Ok, let's say this turns out to be successful and every associations are following this law. But what's next?? All professionals are required to go to Church on Sundays to set a good examples to future professionals?? Think about how many atheist and agnostics will be offended by that. Hmmm ... Ooops, I forgot ... You don't give a damn.
for me, a doctor who belongs to an organization should follow the regulations of that org.... his individual rights can sometimes be secondary to the group..... i don't see why religion should be made an example here.... too much hate there, eh?

maybe, a dose of it.... but unlike communism in its broadest sense, the doctor can always opt to engage in other careers....

Sure why not. Remember there is human rights .. Our country is slowly becoming like a country in the DARK AGES because of these types of ridiculous laws. Why don't people just think about the past that our heroes died for us inorder Filipinos can grasp the "right of freedom" instead of applauding the PMA of stripping off people's human rights.

It's very sad that Filipinos are still proudly practicing discrimination, prejudice, and injustice. Soo funny though when the Independence Day comes, Filipinos are gleefully waving their flags, as if at last they're going to practice the human rights that every Filipinos deserved. LMFAO!!!! Isn't that funny?

It's a can of worms. While healthcare professionals should ideally be role models to society when it comes to health and wellness, we too are people. The PMA's logic is sketchy at best; what happens to the doctors that drink, who have a love for unhealthy food, those who are overweight, who consume more than a pot of coffee every day, who pop pain pills to ease body pains, or those who are promiscuous?

Yes, I sometimes feel it's wrong for a doctor or nurse to say 'Do as I say, not as I do.' At the same time however, I know how difficult it is to kick a bad health habit, so who am I to pass judgement? Try going through a residency program, you're sure to pick up some bad ones along the way.

My point is, if you don't know what it feels to be addicted to something like smoking, then please don't judge those who smoke. Most, if not all, of these people in the medical industry do want to quit you know. The PMA has its heart in the right place, but the association should at least try to help addicts instead of condemning them.

nowadays, it's hard to practice what you preach...U!

PMA, dont implement such rule to members of your association with even knowing what's the punishment/sanction if members commit so..U

Paeta...me i dont smoke but let us just be fair and who knows the persons behind this is also a smoker...dont get their freedom just to set them as an example...im not against to it but just weigh up your order, if you only wanted that you dont want the doctors to be seen by the public, smokin...so why not implement that and not totally banned them on that thing...anyway,thats their problem and besides they absolutely know the health consequences on smoking...if you wanted them not to smoke in public(which is also ethical for the doctors not to be seen smoking in public) and ban them to it,why not just banned everybody on it?
