I'd agree if I were still a student but as an employee, I'd rather work than take a day off. One day is enough for me to spend Christmas with my family.

bright jud ni si Tomas. Tagaan jud niya ug enough time para ma hurot ug spend sa mga tawo ang christmas bonus ug 13th month pay. Holiday economics jud.

Naay uban companies, mo declare ug company holidays sa ubang adlaw nga non-holiday in between Dec 25 and Jan 1.

Uban companies dili mo declare, so sige gihapon trabaho mga tawo. So dili kaayo sulit ang pag celebrate ug bonding2x sa family.

Naay uban nga gusto ug balik trabaho dayon, naa say uban gusto ug long vacation. Kung magka sinabot lang ang employee ug ang company, no need naman ni i-declare as holiday unta. Kung kinsa to ganahan mo work, sige work, kato gusto mo vacation hala lakaw. In such a way, dili sad ma additional burden sa company ang extra pay for the holidays.

    This just came in.

My neighbor told me that his officemate had been lying to his employer for years about vacation leaves. The person originated outside of Cebu (note: Mindanao region) and had a history of using "family" as a reason for going on leave. In reality, that person did not travel back to the province but spent his leaves at the mall and at the church - he's part of a parish group. That guy felt that writing down the true reason (parish activities and malling) would lead to rejection of his vacation leave applications. The only time he actually travels to the province is during X'mas season.

Back to the topic at hand, Osmena's proposal will please that person.
