    Tom Cruise's Spaghetti Carbonara
    Created by Tom Cruise
    From the show Tom Cruise
    Makes 4 servings
INGREDIENTS 1/2 inch of olive oil (for frying pan)
    2 cloves of minced garlic
    1 chopped onion
8-12 thick slices of Italian bacon
    4 eggs
    2 packages of spaghetti
    2 cups grated parmesan cheese

In a frying pan, combine 1/2 inch of olive oil, 2 cloves of minced garlic, one chopped onion and the Italian bacon cut into small squares. Let simmer for about a half-hour, being careful not to let the oil get to a boiling point.

In a bowl, beat 4 eggs with lots of salt and fresh ground pepper.

Bring a pan of salted water to a boil. Cook both packages of spaghetti until al dente, drain and immediately add egg mixture to pasta. The eggs are actually cooked by the pasta. (Make sure the eggs are thoroughly cooked before proceeding.) Stir the egg mixture until it is well mixed. Pour in the mixture from the frying pan and stir. Finish with the parmesan cheese and serve!

    CALIFORNIA MAKI

    Things To Buy:

    Sticky Rice
    Bamboo sushi mat
    plastic wrap
    Roasted Seaweed (Nori)
    Rice Vinegar
    ebico
    ripe mango or avocado
Seedless Cucumber (normal is ok too)
    Crab Sticks

    How To Make The Rice:
The back of the rice package usually tells you how to make stick rice. I find Nishiki rice to work well.
You can also use a rice maker which is much easier, but a normal pot works well. You should make and use:

    2 Cups White Sushi rice
    3 1/2 Tbsps. Vinegar
    1 Tbsps. Sugar
    1 tsp. salt

If using a pot make sure you:

    1. Wash rice in a big bowl of water. Rub grains gently; wet grains break
    easily.
    2. Drain water. Repeat this step 3 or more times until water is almost clear.
    3. Let rice sit for at least 10 minutes..
    4. In cooking pot, mix rice and correct amount of water. Cover with lid.
    5. Cook for appropriate time. (see package)
    6. Turn off the heat and let rice stand, covered with lid for 10 minutes.

Mix Vinegar, salt, and sugar in cup and heat until sugar and salts
    dissolved. (Use Microwave)
Put rice in a large glass, wooden, or plastic bowl...(Not metal)
Spread rice evenly over the bottom. Sprinkle vinegar mixture generously
over the rice....You may not need all of it.

    MAKING THE SUSHI:

Use the mango/avocado, crab, and cucumber and cut into thin strips.

    1. Spread Plastic wrap on bamboo Sushi mat.
    2. Lay Roasted Seaweed sheet on plastic wrap (shiny side down).
    3. Spread Sushi rice on Seaweed (About 1 cup, flatten to 1/4 in. with back
    of spoon.
    4. Lay the mango/avocado, crab, and cucumber strips along one end.
    5. Begin rolling by lifting mat and pressing ingredients with fingers.
Roll up carefully, press end. Remove mat and unwrap the plastic.
    6. Repeat using all ingredients to make 4 rolls. Cut each roll crosswise
into 6 to 8 equal slices.
    7. Spread the ebico sparingly.
    8. Serve with Wasabi, Soy Sauce or whatever you want!

---> i really love this food.... yum! yum!
