^^mao jd. another gasto na pd. hahaiz...
Right.. Nag sign na og bill ang congress sa U.S. nga dili ipa baligya ang F22 raptor to other countries, no exceptions bisag allies. Besides, dili man pud ta maka afford anang eroplanoha oi. ma crash lang nag kausa kay suyupan og gasolina.
Instead of purchasing hi-tech warplanes, why not surface 2 air missile nalang. mag cheaper pa kay sa warplanes.
SAM or surface to air missiles do not come cheap.maybe cheaper than the aircrafts but acquiring them is also very difficult. and one thing more...we need a RADAR to be deployed in order for the SAMs to work accurately... i think that sounds not cheaper at all... we Filipinos are easy to learn whatever the trainings needed for the employment of these equipments such as SAMs. and besides if we are going to be at war with any neighboring countries, big or small, our SAMs are of no match t their air power. so for me, the best thing that we can provide to our soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines are trainings. updated trainings even to foreign equipments not available to us.
the superiority in our air force is determined not only in the jets we have nor in the missiles, it is in the individuals requiremens that needs attention...hehehehehehe... we can always take advantage of our allies right? they have all the latest gadgets and technologies so why not employ them in our soil?
we used to have the strongest air force and strongest navy technologies when the U.S. Bases were still here with us... but all we did was conduct rallies to oust them...our Air Force could have been OUTSTANDING rather than being the weakest now... agree?
^^^yes the communist are good at rallying people againts anything US.
Yup you are absolutely right sir. But the effects on the ousting of the US bases from our soil had both good and bad consequences.. Economically, mas daku og income ang gobyerno karon sa Clark og Subic and other former bases converted into economic zones though taxes from foreign investors as compared to the annual rent (through military aid) of the military base when they (U.S.) were still here. Another thing is that we had seen and unmasked the actual capability of our own military after the US left. So at least nakita gyud nato ang actual capability sa atong military, and it's in our government's hands on what to do with our military's situation. I don't agree with the idea na 'we are this capable with the help of somebody.' It all boils down with our cultural upbringing, always depending on foreign help.
We can do a simple comparison: Japan, Taiwan, Pakistan, Israel, India, Thailand, Indonesia etc etc.. most of these countries have US bases or at least the US military is aiding them just like us. However, one crucial character that these countries have is SELF RELIANCE. I mean serious self reliance, og malas kay wala ta ani. Japan (JDF) has devloped its own version of military equipment like main battle tanks. AFAIK, Taiwan and Israel has its own version of F16. When the US suspended its military aid to Indonesia due to the East Timor crisis, it didn't mean the end of the world for them. They used their common sense and political will to get other sources for their military needs from other countries like Russia. So they have the Mig and SU series fighter jets together with their F16. Pakistan and India both have Russsian and US made hardware in their arsenal, and they're developing their own local versions. By the way, a muslim country like Pakistan is supplying us with 105mm howitzer shells and we're using that to quell the muslim rebellion in mindanao..
And i totally agree with Manta Rye, the only way for us to be self reliant is through R & D. Not only in military parlance, but also in all aspects in our society.
The technology on the F22 is so advanced (5th or 6th generation?) that it will be logical for the US not to sell these even to its closest allies.. That's why they released the F35 (a junior version of the F22) for the allies. I think the US might grant us the F35, if we can afford it..![]()

The only plausible way to modernize our Air Force is through a step by step process. While its possible for our government to go on a military shopping spree by spending more than what we can afford, basin ma-shock ang tanan sa kadako sa gasto..hehehe.. It's like Pedro who is used to an old Yamaha motorcycle, and kalit lang, nipalit og Mercedes Benz.. My point is the modernization of our military should be consistent and aligned with our economic development. But we all know that our economy is growing (slowly but surely) right?? Eh ba't wala pa rin modernize ang air force natin? From supersonic planes before, now its sub sonic nalang... From jet planes down to propeller type planes
I think it's high time for our government to act on this issue. It's pretty alarming the crash rate of our military planes today. I always hear that coz i live near Clark's Air Force City. I guess it won't hurt for our government to spend just to allocate 1 squadron of multi role fighter planes combined with a nationwide radar system. At least its a good start. At least it will show that our government is really serious on the matter. As a start, we can use these fighter jets for guarding our EEZ boundaries to prevent illegal poachers or foreign trawlers from raping our natural resources. It's kinda alarming how much we lost to these foreign intruders every year..
Hmm sa ako pag lantaw ang ato OV-10 bronco pwede nato ma upgrade more on like the A10-tank buster sa iya configuration same sya sa A10 na twin engine bisan turbo prop ang OV-10, ug mapadakan ang wing span sa bronco para maka karga ug daghan na bomba ug missiles for COIN mission, bisan nlng 50 calliber machine gun nlng ato ibutang sa iya atubangan, dile lng ning gatling gun na cannon, kai wala may tanke ang abusayaff ug npa para ato bungkagun, kong naa lang unta tai facilities ug dako na kwarta mahimu jud nato ni,
