MANILA, Philippines – Fire burned down over 50 houses in Cebu City Saturday noon, leaving two people injured, Radyo Inquirer reported.
The report, quoting arson investigator Antonio Gonzales, said the fire started at 11:12 a.m. in Barangay Guadalupe. The fire reportedly started at the home of couple Alfredo and Josefina Navarro. Because the houses in the area were made of light materials, the fire quickly spread.
The report said the fire was put under control at 1:34 p.m., where two people were reported hurt after they tried to save their belongings from their burning homes.
Arson investigators have placed the total amount of damages caused by the fire to P1 million.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
