a super tucano can do the job at a fraction of the cost & maintenance.. if only our military brass can be realistic with their goals, "effective air defense irregardless of brand or make"

the super tucano would be a very good choice for COIN operations..a gripen is more economical but a very capable aircraft for external defense in light of a 'perceived conflict' in the Spratlys. Or if possible to ask the japanese for their mitsubishi F-2 aircraft either as a loan or as 'payment' for their war crimes committed to us during ww2..hehe!pwede kaha??

Not only the PAF should be modernize but the navy as well. All our ASEAN neighbors have been modernizing their armed forces because of the 'assertive' behavior now being shown by the Chinese. At least naa pod tay ika sukol in case they want to take over the Kalayaan islands by force. If we don't modernize now, we couldn't do anything to defend our sovereignty if in case a shooting war erupts in this disputed area..looy kaayo ta ma massacre lang ato mga sundalo sa kalayaan islands walay kalaban-laban!
