how can you fear and love something at the same time. that doesn't make any sense.

The verse speaks of FEAR producing wisdom,not love.

now to your question...here is my answer taken from real life experience...I both fear and love my parents at the same time,it does make sense.

if that should lead to misinterpretation, why can't you/they change it to "awe" instead of "fear"?

my next question is, when can you interpret the bible as literal and when as not literal?

my question, are humans given the gift of intellect, and choice?.....

YES......the Lord wants us to use our intellect to understand His writings and His teachings...and the choice whether to obey Him or not...well, as for me i chose to follow Him and FEAR Him and LOVE Him...it is a matter of faith and trust...
