how would you rate Nikon's performance when it comes to portrait in terms of sharpness and color? I mean, okay ra ba ang skin tones? Also, sakto ra ba ang sharpness kay some clients dili ganahan ug super sharp kay maklaro ilang wrinkles, perteng hago raba nila ug make-up.

My post-processing workflow usually involves sharpening images and that part of my post processing i would like to cut out.

here's the link for the d300 btw

actually, mo tira ra ko bisag unsa nga camera(as you can see donasyon ra akong equipments hehehe) basta makahimo lang og photo payts; but its just naganahan lang ko sa in-camera features sa nikon comparing pagkulikot nako sa mga canon dslrs, aside sa gi mentioned nako why i choosed nikon sa previous page, plus and performance of the nikon lenses.

these other things; the sharpness, color, and skin tones, honestly, dili kaayo ko ma bothered. aside sa factors mentioned in the previous page, naay tremendous in-camera features that can modify all of these intensively and effectively on one's taste. including the workflow you mentioned, it can still be pre-configured to let it out-of-the-box direct finish kung baga.

about that link isteb, murag duda ko ana dah..susiha lang gyud og duro para cgurado.. labi na online ang payment, risgu kaayo. but honestly the price is too good to be true and nearly to be given na hehehe

and yes, borow nalang usa para ma sulbad na ang pagkalibog before you shall decide, then kulikot intensively all the way

Personally, I'd rather use a D90 than a D300, especially since you won't be needing the 51 focus points (stills; studio shots). Alucard is spot on regarding the D300's performance (or lack of) in lowlight scenarios.

    my recommendation full frame(d700, d3, d3s or d3x) + 105mm for portrait and products

pero between the d300 and d300s, spec wise gamay ra gud kaayo ang difference for me...

^- But I think if you mount an MF lens on a Nikon, it won't meter. Just like my friend experienced with his
    D90 + 50mm lens (old version; MF)

Money is not an issue man kaha why not get a full frame body instead? If you don't mind sir unsa imo current lens diay karon?

mao gyud. if money is not an issue, stick with what brand you have. and since canon na, a 5D MK II with 85mm f/1.2 will solve his problem

    OT here:
first camera I used was Lumix with Leica Lens then Nikon. in terms of sharpness Leica wins for me.

both canon and nikon are good and since you've mentioned that you're a Canon user why not stick to it coz it has been your "soulmate". Remember that they have different interface maybe you might be crapping your way through coz you couldn't get that magic shot. I'm a nikonian by the way.

I was using a 24-105 f/4 lens. WAS kay when I first got my hands on the 50D I went ahead and made use of the 6.3 fps during Sinulog, na daot ang lens. When the lens was brought to the service center, I remember being asked from the get-go if I used the camera in burst mode. Gi ingnan ko sa service center not to use the full 6.3 fps burst kay madaot daw ang lens.

A friend of mine with the exact same lens experienced the same problem. and it happened when he was covering this sports event daw.

So it's been months, wala pa gihapon na ayo ang lens. For the moment I'm stuck with a 50mm f/1.8 and a basic 18-55 kit lens.

Kung nadaot ang lens because of mishandling on my part, makasabot ra unta ko... but I was just making use of the features of the cam and then na guba na hinuon akong lens. Wala pa gani to nag two months and I've made use of the burst mode twice lang; once during a sporting event sa san carlos and ikaduha pag sinulog. wa na gani ko katiwas ug shoot adto.

both canon and nikon are good. its like Nike and Addidas or Smart and Globe. Sa opinion ko stick to canon or if your planning to buy another mount, choose a higher model nlang ng Canon like 7D. opinion lang po

I'm a Nikon user right now (using D90) and if I remember it right, I chose to be have a Nikon body because I noticed that the colors were much more vibrant. as simple as that.. until now I have no regrets.
