Default An appeal to the Motorcycling Community

Last Saturday,my car was involved in a very horrible accident involving not one, but two motorcycle riders that left a motorist badly injured, and we don't know until now as to his condition since the last time I saw him in the scene, he was really banged up...

And guess what, the two of them did not wear any protective helmets, and I sense the other guys is drunk due to his smell...

It happened when I was to take a left turn in a highway going north. While I was waiting to take my turn, letting the opposing traffic to pass by, I heard a banging noise about 50ft from my car, then seconds later, rammed hardly on the back portion of my car. We really felt the impact and thoughts were flying that this could be serious.

When I got out of the car, to my surprise, I saw two motorcycles stuck on the car's tail gate, a motionless body lying nearby, and another one, scratching his wounds. I talked to the guys, and I sense that few of them were drunk, perhaps came from an earlier gathering.. Fortunately, the seriously injured motorist was loaded to a passing ambulance from a nearby town...

What I am disappointed with, is that in the scene, they were claiming that I suddenly brake and left them no room to avoid my car... Shame on them!!! I have been taking that same left turn the entire course of my life, familiar with the place and knows when and where to reduce my speed before taking that turn...

During the course of the investigation, it was believed that the two collided first 44FT before they rammed my car due to the skid marks on the road. Adding insult to injury, a Tanod went to the scene and told the police that it was a group of riders joy riding, and the two in front of the group were riding side by side, talking and ridiculously over-speeding... It made us conclude that the two did not notice me first, and when they finally saw me, they tried to avoid me, but unfortunately, they collided and hit my car badly...

The sad part is, they left the scene with no notice at all, except for the two impounded motorcycles. The police had been searching major Hospitals here in cebu but to no avail. What we are more concerned of, is that we do not know the condition of the seriously injured motorist. And worst of all, we have no clue as to their names, and who would shoulder the liability...

The incident really takes its toll to my family. My wife and I are sleepless for 2 nights now thinking of the accident. My wife have fears and is very paranoid that the guys might return the favor in a very harsh manner since nobody showed up at the station, nobody wants to air their views...

That is why I am appealing to the motorcycling community to be more responsible in the roads, be safety conscious always, and always value life...

A month ago, I too was also a victim of a hit & run of an irresponsible motorista near Citilink. Though not much damage has been done, what irked me most was that he did not bother to stop. Maybe walay license or hubog mao ni sutoy...

What I am very disappointed bro, is that they blamed me for that bloody incident... I have aired my part, and yet they ran away from the scene, leaving the police no trail as to their Identity...

Well, I brought my car to my dealer, and estimated to cost around 60k for the repairs... No worries at all since my car is fully insured...

The worst part is, it is still 4 months old!!!!

I had also the same experience, my suv with a honda xrm, mao gihapon sa back side naigo ang sakyanan, padulong ko mo-left turn, pero ga-signal light na ko mga 50 meters una ko mo-left turn,

i see you TS as a good example with this kind of situation, kamo na ang na agrabyado yet you still managed to be really concerned sa situation atong badly injured.. you are always on the positive side, i pray a positive outcome on this. You still have an alas to keep track on them, their motorcycles are impounded, for sure it'll be claimed and be notified or you can have the registration info sa LTO.
