I haven't tried this yet but I think this could be possible. Meaning if the users changed their mac address then it will defeat the purpose of filtering it by mac address. This could be the loop hole.
How to Change a MAC Address
kani bai wala ni na option sa imo menu?
Internet Access
if naa, there are several option there to use...
you can just block the http/https/ftp if traffic if you want...several posibilities
sir MK naa ko ana diay nga option pero kng ako to cya i block ma apil ba kaha ko ug uban PC nga nag share sa switch..ma block pd ba sila?
if not pwede ko nimo i guide kng unsaon ni pag setup sir.i try sa nako sa ako PC
sir CRX i thought also nga pwede nila ma change ang MAC. kay sa NIC ra na cya dba. do you have ideas nga dile nila ma change ang mac?
Try this bai
1. Enable the Policy
2. Enter your policy name...say "NoInternetForJo"
3. Click "Edit List of PCs"
4. Input the MAC addresses (murag limited to 8 per policy)...if more more than 8 PC then create another similar policy nasad.
5. Save settings > Close
6. Set "Deny"
7. Check "Everyday"
8. select "24 Hours"
9. finally "Add Service"
10. Save Setting.
The possible Backdoor kay if ila i-change ang MAC address sa ila NIC...that's where you as admin need to monitor the status sa router...if you have list of known MAC in your network (, ma detect na nimo from status kay naay rogue MAC na mogawas hehe...then block it again and verbally tell the guy to not do it again hahaha.
Another option is to block the IP range of your DHCP instead of MAC.
Then use static IP configuration on other PC na allowed to use Internet.
Ang backdoor ani is if ila i-set ila IP to static sad...but that can be easily detected if you monitor your router status too kay naa may mogawas na IP na not part sa imo static configured PC block dayon! hehe
sir sa pag block sa MAC na human na nako.thanx alot.
the good thing sir sa imo idea is kadtong imo rogue MAC ako na i try kng ma detect na nako.
regarding sa DHCP nya mu assign ug static IP tungod kai maka access sila to change their own IP add kai naa sila admin rights. or pwede ra na nila i release ila IP address and request for new one.kai DHCP automatic na sila hatagan ug IP address... maybe the IP address is not that secured cguro..
thanx sir MK sa imo input!
pangitaan nlang nako way how to detect rogue MAC.
P.S
sir MK ako g click ang status which is the farthest right naay word nga "status" pero i could not see asa ko maka kita ug rogue MAC. (
sir Swordfish69 naa ka idea how to detect a rogue MAC?
idk if this will work. but sa amo, home usage ra nuon, ako ra iblock ang port 80 sa specific ip sa among router. d na maka internet ang uban, but sa web browsers ra
