AMD is coming out with a system that can accomodate 2 FX-62 as pointed out by gravy-addict

they are calling it 4X4............ =16......hehehe

4x4 platform from AMD is not actually 16cores!

it means 4 CPU cores and 4 GPU cores (nvidia gx2)

4x4+ = i think 16 CPU cores
4x4++ = this one i don't know

Well that did not happen when there were dual sockets for the PIII

I don't think they would lose that much because the 805D does not have the same Xeon performance.

thats why after the PIII there was never any dual socket for P4....... only the Xeon had multiprocessor support............

None you need a Xeon class processor for it.
If you badly want to dual socket a D805 just wait for conroe.. an E6700 can easily beat even a 3ple D805 for a fraction of the cost

that's wat some of my friends have told me, wait for conroe,
I'm just mulling over the 805D as an alternate rig to my venice. I kinda liked the idea if it was possible to quad the 805D as my audio apps and sound cards already supports 64 bit and multi processors, kinda like the dual pIII 700 a friend of mine did a few years back.

Not gonna happend since SMP is only enabled on Xeon class processors.

i think wala gyud dual proc ni gawas for intel pentium 4... last ang last ako nahibao-an kay 2proc na socket 370 lang... wala pa gyud mobo na 2 775 socket...
