i really want many cebu municipalities to become cities. however, i would agree with the supreme court on this. cityhood must be rightfully earned, for a substandard city is dependent on internal revenue allotment, and would decrease the shares of worthy cities.

the supreme court decision is not at all bad. municipalities have lower taxes than cities. thus, remaining a municipality would also benefit its constituents.

tama ka sir. i was able to visit these towns (5 if im not mistaken), seems di pa pod jud sila hitsura nga city. di pa jud sila matawag na city sa state of development.

correct me if im wrong but seems these towns were made cities when the new requirements were already in effect. actually may mga gi-cite na exemptions ang congress that time (forgot ko kung unsa to) mao pass nila ang law to convert these towns to cities but according to the SC, its not acceptable.

correct ka.. gi approve ni sila when the new requirements already on effect...but di ba unfair..
na nag apply uban ani nila..during lahi pa ang requirement..

sa kahinay sa proseso sa law.. naabtan nlng sila sa new system..
while others na kadungan nila apply.. city na karon..
supposedly kung na approve ni sila..just like other cities surely earning more
than 100 million na sila karon unta pod..

I'm not a lawyer...pero wala man cguro gi ingon ang new law na new applicants including existing applicants...

To be fair....tanan cities na di mu qualify sa new 100 million income dapat tanggalun pod sa pagka city..

Mga members of LCP..cities... di gusto ma city ang uban arun dako ilaha pork barrel.
meaning.. main root aning is corruption..
unta kanang mga mayors sa existing cities..dili lng unta greedy
daghan na unta ta progessive cities sa Pilipinas..

murag ang IRA siguro ang pasabot dili ang CDF or pork barrel fund. kung city ka mas daku imo share sa IRA kay makishare man ka sa big IRA pie with other cities. mao na angal kaayo ang LCP. pero kung ako taga munisipyo, mas ganahan ko municipality gihapon kay mas ubos ang taxes. ang LGU moasenso man kung tarong lang pagkadumala. kung walay tarong ang mga officials, bisag unsa pa kadako ang IRA, way mahimo kay kurakuton lang. IMO.
