the addition of DoJo and T. Chandler made as a better team than last season, now, it all depends on the coach's player rotation..

-DoJo is going to rock this town. His popularity has grown. Now he needs to show it come game night.

Inside Report: Mavs make impact in Day 1 of the Worlds

When the FIBA World Championship tipped off Saturday in Istanbul, Turkey, the Dallas Mavericks were well represented. The Mavericks' representation was seen throughout the world, as 24 countries began group play before the elimination round crowns an eventual gold medal-winning world champion. At the center of the tournament are Team USA's Tyson Chandler, Puerto Rico's J.J. Barea and Ian Mahinmi for France, three Mavericks that hope to lead their respective countries to the gold before returning to Dallas for the start of training camp near the end of September.
"To be a big part of an international tournament is a really big time thing," Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said. "(After the World Championship) we've got to narrow our focus to the beginning of training camp and get everybody ready for that."
While Chandler -- along with his four points on 2-for-2 from the floor and two blocked shots in 11 minutes -- helped the U.S. team blow out Croatia with a 106-78 rout in Group B, Barea's homeland was not as successful. Despite Barea's 25 points, four rebounds and four assists, the Puerto Rican squad fell to Russia, 75-66, in Group C.
Meanwhile, over in Group D, fellow Maverick Mahinmi also hit the court for the French national team against defending champion Spain. Despite suffering a finger injury earlier this month, Mahinmi and the Frenchmen upset the Spaniards, 72-66, with the young big man posting five points in the victory.
"Mahinmi has some issue with his finger. He has got some kind of a bone chip fracture, which we don't believe is gonna be serious," Carlisle said.
Chandler and the Americans return to the hardwood on Sunday morning, matching up against Slovenia at 8:30 a.m. CT. The game will be televised on ESPN 2.
Also on Sunday, Barea's Puerto Rican team meets powerhouse Greece, in a game that will be televised on NBA TV at 10:30 a.m. CT. At the same time, Mahinmi and the French face off with Lebanon, looking to ride the wave of their opening win.

I think the problem of the mavz is not about the player but its all about the coach on how he will use the players in a crucial game...mao 2 na daot sila sa spurs...dli kamao mo gamit sa ilang player..karon pang allstar na kaayo ang team sa dallas aw syaro ma upset g hapon

Mavs Rookie DoJo Gets A Tattoo - Of The NBA Logo

    By Mike Fisher -- DB.com

Props to Mavs guys Earl K. Sneed and Stevallica for bringing this to our attention: newly-minted NBA player Dominique "DoJo" Jones of the Mavs has a newly-minted tattoo ... of the NBA logo! Three quick takes on the ink. ...

    1. Yes, we can assume that DoJo has taken the photo of himself in the mirror, thus explaining why the "NBA'' is backwards.
    2. I will take it upon myself to inform young Dominique that folks (on Facebook, Match.com or wherever) who take photos of themselves in bathroom mirrors create the impression that they are lonely and friendless.
    3. DoJo is smarter than the average bear who gets a tattoo representing his team and its logo ... guys too naive to understand that if they have an NBA career at all, they'll end up with six teams ... and six tattoos.
