Default LGA775 mobo with 2 proc slots

I've been wondering about this for quite some time. Na a bay mobo available for the pentium D 820/805 where you can put 2 processors in for a total of 4 actual processors? I guess this would be a server type of mobo but since the price of 2 intel D 805 is equivalent to one athlon 64 3500+, murag attractive sab in terms of price. This would not be a gamers rig kay wala pa man ma optimized ang games for dual proc, but for a multimedia rig that uses a lot of soft synth and sampler plugins, this would be a killer! Has anyone out there heard of a 2 slot LGA775 mobo?

    if you need four cores

intel sells them as xeon so that they get more money

imagine if they sell a motherboard for 2 D 805..... who will buy the expensive Xeon

so they won't make a motherboard for 2 D 805.... since they will be lossing Xeon sales......

i read in one of the tech sites that next tech will feature mobos that will be able to utilize two dual core CPUs, the thing is, who would spend for 2 FX-62s? well not me..hehe i dont even have apps to make my OCed Venice bleed anyway (except for games)

Im not 100% sure of a Xeon processor is really needed, but all of my friends who asked me to make a spec for them with dual socket processors used a Xeon,Tyan and Intel manufacture dual socket motherboards there are even made o order quad socket motherboards avalable.

IMHO, getting a conroe E6600 or E6700 is much much better than a dual socket 805D ( if it were possible to run in that config )

Why would you go dual D805 ? spending for a single E6600 Core 2 Duo ( Conroe ) is a LOT faster. Tyan has annouced a dual socket mobo which is conroe ready.
is there a dual lga socket 775 motherboard made by Tyan?

because all dual socket or multiprocessor products of Intel are branded as XEON...... get it.........

There is no Pentium 4 dual socket product..... all the more a Pentuim D dual socket product........... if intel were to sell these its like a Killing their XEON.......

FX62 isnt quadcore native yet, K8L will be quad core.
    Hence 2x2 for FX62 , and 4x4 on K8L[br]Posted on: July 23, 2006, 06:14:58 PM_________________________________________________

    Hehehe

murag spirited na ang discussion da!

The reason I am asking is of course the money to spend. How many 805D processors can you get for the price of a conroe E6600, or an X2 3800+, or an dualcore Xeon? Would the performance of the 805D be half across-the-board compared to the conroe E6600, or the FX 62 or the duo Xeon?

If price point was not a question then four dual-core xeons on a tyan Thunder GC-HE (S4520) would be just great. I can even use the 2 lan outputs to node other logic platinum powered PCs to it. But as it is, in a reality check, the 805D is the cheapest dual-core around, and very cheap at that! Hence the processor of choice for an entry-level quad format.

The dual socket mobos I've seen specify intel@ Xeon@ processors, do some of them support 805D processors?

AMD processors are out of the question, not because of performance, but because the cheapest I can find is about 18T pesos (X2 3800+) or the price of 3 805D processors. Now would the X2 3800+ be three times faster than the 805D?

I presently use a venice 3200+ oc to 2.5ghz which I bought for 12k back then in the hope of replacing it with an athlon dual-core in the future.
I know the 805D is not the best proc, or the fastest, but if it had come out then, at its price, I would have chosen it against the venice 3200+ as the 805D will kick the venice.

If AMD had a dual-core as cheap as the 805D, I'd probably be asking you guys the same question but for a quad AMD instead.

precisely, but it doesn't have to be Intel mobos,

Which leads me back to my original question,

Are there any dual socket mobos that support the 805D?
