These moral hypocrites and local leaders are doing a nice job for the SWAC (Spa and Wellness Association of Cebu), a group of spa owners whose businesses have been losing money and customers for some time.

The SWAC spas are aware of how lingam joints like Chuva Chuva and ALM are doing good business-wise. What did the SWAC do? Stage a campaign of fear and deception that lingam massage is immoral, unsanitary, etc.

SWAC knows well that once the government knocks down their competitors, they will gain greater control of Cebu's massage/spa market for themselves. Any individual who aspires to set up a spa business will have no choice but to get SWAC's approval. As for the SWAC joints, they will eventually raise their rates on consumers and leave them no choice.

Oh yes, take a close look at SWAC's advertising link with the local media, especially the Cebu Daily News. Local observers believe that CDN is helping the SWAC (client) by focusing attention on anything negative about lingam massage.

Think about it. There definitely is a set-up behind the scenes, behind these new stories, and behind the politicians dealing with lingam massage.

I'd love to see Alex Jones (or someone like him) expose the conspiracy and alert the people.

A LINGAM massage parlor owner, two of her employees and a male customer were arrested in a raid by a joint team of Cebu City Government officials and the police Monday night.

But the owner of Authentic Lingam Massage Venture in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City questioned the raid, saying her spa is not a prostitution den.

“Lingam is decent,” said Honey Lou Mirafuen-tes Yoo, the owner of Authentic Lingam Massage.

Arrested with Yoo were masseuses Alma Casicas and Fel Angie Ocampo and customer Nathaniel Ebarito.

The operation was done by a joint team from the Cebu City Anti-Indecency Board (Caib), Cebu City Police Office, led by Women and Children Protection Desk Chief Chyrel Boniao, the Investigation and Detective Management Branch and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The team went to Yoo’s spa at 11:30 p.m. and allegedly caught the masseuses allegedly “performing an indecent show, immoral play and pornography” with the customer.

The team arrested them for violating Presidential Decree (PD) 969, specifically the provision banning the exhibition of a naked body.

Yoo was arrested for allegedly “maintaining or hiring persons to engage in prostitution and pornography and/or adopting or facilitating the adoption of persons for the purpose of prostitution and pornography” and for violating Republic Act (RA) 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

A complaint for violation of RA 9208 was filed against Yoo yesterday. A P200,000 bail was recommended for her temporary liberty.

Casicas, Ocampo and Ebarito were charged for violating PD 969.

The Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office recommended a P24,000 bail for each.

But Yoo said she has a business permit and her attendants are not prostitutes.

“Dili kaayo fair ang pag-arrest (The arrest was unfair),” Yoo told Sun.Star Cebu.

“We don’t offer ***, (customers) were there for relaxation,” she added.

She appealed to authorities to regulate lingam massage.

Apart from Yoo’s business, the joint team also inspected AM-PM Thai Lingam Massage, Stress Free Massage Spa and Chuva Chuva Lingam Massage.

The Caib, headed by Dr. Lucille Mercado, checked the establishments’ compliance with local ordinances on decency.

At AM-PM Lingam Massage, which is in Banawa, the team interviewed seven masseuses, who said the massage parlor has not yet been operating and they were still undergoing training.

Covering their faces, the therapists admitted the establishment offers lingam massage service, which they called “prostate massage,” but said their primary services are Shiatsu and Swedish massages.

They denied engaging in prostitution, saying authorities may set up surveillance cameras inside the massage parlor.

“We are still going to evaluate our findings from this establishment. Because it appears they don’t have a business permit and heath cards of therapists. We don’t even know yet the name of the owner of this establishment. We’re going to follow the due process of law,” said Atty. Aida Sanchez of Caib.

The receptionist at Stress Free Massage Spa was able to present most of the necessary documents during the inspection except the birth certificates of the masseuses, saying the documents were inside the manager’s office, which was locked at that time.

Mercado said birth certificates and health cards of the masseuses should always be placed at the reception desk so the inspectors could check them right away.

Representatives from the City Health Department and the BFP were also present during the inspection to check the establishments’ compliance with sanitary and fire safety standards.

Assistant Cebu City prosecutor Aida Sanchez, a member of CAIB, claimed that she personally saw the two women while performing "indecent acts" on the male cus-tomer which is prohibited under Presidential Decree 969 and City Ordinance 1408.

Several other members of the raiding team have executed affidavits to support the statement of Sanchez.

Mercado explained that section 5(f) of City Ordinance 1408 provides that the touching of the genitals of customers in any massage parlor, even if it is covered with cloth, is strictly not allowed and punishable by law.

When the policemen were already about to bring both masseuses to the police station, the massage parlor operator arrived and stopped them from leaving with her workers and asked the police to talk to her lawyer first.

The SWAC and the conservatives must be smiling at these news.

Weird that ALM, the most professional of lingam spas, got raided and its owner and attendants were arrested for engaging in prostitution and porn.

The people who reported to me about their visits to ALM never claimed that the ladies there exposed themselves in the nude or do any sexual intercourse there.

It's also suspicious that ALM owner Honey Yoo, who has proven to be the most outspoken defender of lingam massage, got arrested. What about the other spa owners who have remained silent? What about the owners and people of the cheap-and-sleazy massage parlors that long offered *** to paying clients that continue to operate freely?

If there is any massage parlor that long offered sexual intercourse and recently offered lingam massage, it's Stressfree.

    Stressfree is guilty for one.

The latest episode in the "lingam massage drama"...actually debates.

PROVINCIAL Board (PB) Member Agnes Magpale is now certain she wants a total ban of lingam massage in the Province.

A public hearing was held yesterday at the Capitol Session Hall, where Magpale's ordinance for a total ban of lingam massage and PB Member Arleigh Sitoy’s proposal to merely regulate the service were taken up.

The owner of Authentic Lingam Massage Venture and doctors all said lingam massage does not cure or prevent prostate cancer.

Doctors said it is a form of masturbation or self-gratification.

Dr. Aguido Magdadaro had a brief presentation on the lingam massage and said, “Let's call a spade a spade. This is a massage of the *****.”

Every male is vulnerable to prostate cancer, said urologist Dr. Warfe Cabahug, who was invited by the PB to shed light on the benefits of lingam massage.

“Categorically, lingam has no therapeutic value nor can it cure prostate cancer. Maybe other prostatic diseases, but even that does not have scientific basis,” said Cabahug.

There is no such thing as prevention for prostate cancer, just early detection, he added.

Honey Yoo, proprietress of the Authentic Lingam Massage Venture, said lingam massage cannot cure prostratic diseases.

She said it is a relaxation massage that is an alternative therapy for those with prostate problems.

Yoo said 86 percent of respondents in a survey said they were relaxed after having undergone the massage, but Magdadaro would not accept the survey because it was not scientific.

“People don't go to our parlor to ejaculate,” Yoo said.

She was accompanied by around 20 massage therapists who accused the PB of making them look like criminals.

They applauded every time Yoo presented an argument and grumbled loudly when they didn't like what the other panelists were saying.

“We work hard for this but you are trying to make us look like criminals,” Geramie Sasuman said in Bisaya.

Magpale explained the public hearing is intended to discuss all angles.

PB Member Sun Shimura said the PB intends to protect the masseuses because they want to maintain Cebu’s image of being known for its beaches, not for lingam massage.

A massage therapist said the PB should focus on bikini bars.

PB Member Peter John Calderon, the chairman of the committee on laws and ordinances--the lead committee in the public hearing--told the therapists the Provincial Government is working against the proliferation of bikini bars and has even banned bikini contests.

“We are doing this to protect the dignity of women,” said Calderon.

Magpale's decision to seek a total ban on lingam massage was triggered by Yoo's revelation that there are four phases in conducting the massage. But she invoked her right to protect her trade secret in not revealing what they do in the final phases.

Magpale said Yoo was being evasive.

But when PB Member Jude Thaddeus Sybico asked if the ***** is touched during lingam massage, Yoo said no.

Yoo said the information available online is not the lingam massage that she and nine other massage therapists studied in Malaysia and Singapore.

Sophia Logarta of the University of the Philippines Visayas Cebu College (UPVCC) said lingam massage does not belong to the local culture. (note: so does Spanish culture and words to say the least)

Magpale assured the massage therapists they will not lose their jobs because the ordinance only seeks to ban lingam massage. Other forms of massage are still acceptable.

Department of Tourism 7 Officer-in-Charge Rowena Montecillo said her agency will support the PB's move to protect women and children.

Johnny Lim, president of the Spa and Wellness Association of Cebu, also said he will support the total ban on lingam massage. (note: greed, market domination, elimination of competitors, etc.)

Meanwhile, Gov. Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia lauded Cebu City Anti- Indecency Board (Caib) Chief Lucille Mercado for her fight against lingam massage.

She said Mercado is protecting the dignity of women and the image of Cebu.

    ‘Sweeping’

Mercado led a raid on spas offering lingam massage last Monday night. A joint team from Caib and the Cebu City Police Office held surprise inspections on four massage parlors for compliance with laws.

Yoo, two of her employees and a male customer were arrested during the operations.

Yoo posted bail and attended the public hearing at Capitol yesterday.

Lawyer Rio Bilocura, counsel of Yoo, said they are "really condemning the action" of the PB because of a "sweeping accusation that lingam massage is a front of prostitution."

"Pangita-a kuno diri sa korte ug naa ba na-convicted of prostitution. Do you know what prostitution is? Prostitution is habitual sexual intercourse. Pangita kaso diha sa Kapitolyo if duna'y prostitution. And what is the basis of this ordinance that this is a front of prostitution? Where is the prostitution there?" Bilocura told reporters in an interview after the public hearing.
