Default scars or ulat, body imperfections, ugliness, etc.

Scars are just marks, right? They are not something that you are ashamed of. They just signify that life is not perfect-- that we encounter painful accidents and catastrophes that we didn't expect to happen in our lives. Those scars tell us that our skin is delicate and perishable. Pero ngano man most people are spending too much their energies and resources trying to change the things that they don't like in their bodies (not to overgeneralize the issue). In the end kung mamatay na ta, madugta raman gihapon atong lawas.

I know this thread seems superbly emotional for just a small issue (physical scars) but the thing that I'd like to address here is the effect of the scar on the person's emotions (insecurities, self-conscious, anxiety, and even depression) brought about by the pressures the societies has put upon those persons including me. Kabawo ta that the society is really changing plus naimpluwensiyahan pa jud ta og maayo sa Western Culture which puts much significance on physical beauty. The media should be responsible for this; but what these TV ads are doing-- they are just trying to show that an impossible beauty could be attained (sinaw kayo og buhok, puti kayo og nawong, walay bugas, fair kayo ang panit, etc., plus naa pa jud nang dermatix nga advertisement nga makalagot kayo). They are just trying to encourage vanity-- and what is the effect of this on the person: he or she will try to search more ways to improve his physical appearance para mafeel niya nga proud kayo siya sa iyang kaugalingon og makakuha siya og more love from others. That is very devastating to a person because he cannot love himself.

Sorry kaayo kung taas na ang thread but I really want to pour out my emotions here. I am one of those people I'd described above. I want to be true here. I am suffering from mild anxiety-related disorders because I'm very much concerned about myself and my need of approval and praise from others. Mao ni ang resulta sa mga selfish kayo nga tawo who are very much concerned about themselves.

Anyways, kung sayop man gani ang category sa thread, bahala namo. wala man gud psychology nga category dire sa istorya. Kapoi kayo basa sa? Kamo, what are your opinions about scars, imperfections, etc.?

This is very true. People are very shallow building their lives on material things.
