Default 4 pin ATX power extension got burned

Ni-restart lang kalit ako pc, tapos after some isolation, I came out with a bare rig. Some fans, my vc and a stick of my dual channel rams were taken off. It turns out ga-restart gihapon siya. While tightening my wire connections, (re-attached 24-pin, sata power connector of my hdd ) nahikapan nako ako 4 pin atx extension kay rough na. Faulty extension wire ako assumption of course, pero basin naa pa wala nako nahibal-an nga issue. My system is overclocked with the following specs:

    Unlocked Phenom oc'ed from 2.2 to 3ghz.
    HD4850
    4GB ram
    OCZ ModxStream 600w

Mao nay gi ingon nga risky kaayo na ang mag OC'ed doh mao pud nay sulti sa manufacturer notes nga beyond manufacturer's recommended setting will be at your own risk so basically tungod na sa imong pag OC. I encountered pud ug PSU before nga kalit kasunog ang wire while ga operate ga sunog jud mao delikado kaayo if ana na case. To make things sure i ventilate pud nato ang atong chassis.

I assure you heat is not an issue here, my case is well ventilated ( got 3 120mm fans as intake and 1 120mm fan as exhaust ) and my ocz psu is running cool enough. I always have my third party monitoring software running almost everytime and all my components barely crosses the 40c barrier except for my vc w/c almost at all times running at 42c idle. I've been running those OC settings since february, it wasn't until last month that I bought the sleeved extension wire and a month after this happened.

    IMHO:
I think sakto tong imo first assumption.

But sa ila 6pin ug 8pin extension ok ra daw. Well anyway, on the bright side at least wala naguba ako pc, funny thing, pag restart ganina first thought that came out sa ako huna2 is "basin unstable ako overclock after almost half a year", w/c would suck as I have to retest my overclock all over again.

too much power draw-high resistance wire-lose contact(same reason i said before i dont like having modular psu)... it could be worse and dha sa contact areas and iniit ang may cause the plastic to melt...

just for reference....comparison on the quality of wires used on most branded PSU and cheapo extension cables

centax error is right brad..this is what some cheap 4 pin extensions are made of and sells cheap daw..that's why camshow is selling the high quality one with the right price to avoid your mobo getting in the situations like this and if i may add it's not with the OC thing brad..it's just the cheapo wire you may have purchased..
