right now i own 2 rotts the one in the picture above is my female rott nena, my male piolo i'll post picture soon ge pa tambok pa nako gamay, my dobbie winky naa sa province talawan kaayo mahadlok sa buto (kilat,firecrackers,gun etc.) mao ra ba kugihan manganak, mga pup ge panghatag nako sa akoa mga amego na chinese kay swerte man kuno para sa ela tinohoan na makadawat ug henatag na dog. Mao na mas ganahan ko sa rott kaysa sa dobbie, base ra na nako sa akoa experience, ang thread title sa TS is asking asa ta sa duha, so i just answer that question base sa akoa openion

Some dobes maybe but not in general. dobes were really bred to protect,they are very capable of doing police work. it really depends on the bloodline, how the dog was train and what the dog used to and there are even a lot of rotts out there who wont bark at intruders and some may be shy and timid. so it really depends on the personality of the dog..

but if base on your experience,ok. i respect your opinion

yup your right here bro mas dependent ang dobie sa eya master, if mo command ang master na jump walay duha duha ambak sad dayon ang dobbie maski unsa pa na ka lawom ang rott opposite if command jump nya lawom ang ambakan maske unsa nemo pugos ug pa ambak dle gyud mo ambak,mao maka engon ta na gahe ulo ang rott kay naa siya kaugalingon logic. peace

i will agree to this sakto gyud. daghan na na dogs ning agi sa akoa life pero ang rott gyud ang pinakalahi sa tanan. in a way na mo think gyud sla b4 doing something :P like if naa ba kay i hatag na reward nla or wala :P or if ang imo gipahimo maka harm ba nila or dili. pero one thing ra gyud ang akoa biliban sa rott. they always know when to protect you. dili pareha sa uban dogs na if naa stranger sa inyo haus bark lang dayon. although depende pud sa training but my rott will first look at the stranger if ok sa iya tulog balik but if naa sya ma sense na dili maayo bark gyud to the max :P

agree kaayo kow ani chad... i love the rott kai its a thinking dog and protector jud kaayo mao ni sad akoa exp nila if they find the person somewhat strange kapaakon na jud kaayo sila but if tan aw nila normal ra igo raka tan awn usig gamay kahman wla nai paki! hahaha

gud day guys.just wanted to comment on the broadened statement above.i own & have bred both breeds,but the dobes are the 1st ones that i have had my 1st training acquintance with,as rotts tend to arrive in the philippine setting later on.based on the actual dobe bloodlines from the heydays to the present,'timidity & shyness' is most prevalent in dobermann's,which is basically attuned to the fact that most dobermanns nowadays are not worked on or trained on working dog disciplines but atleast 80% of them are of showlines/showdog origin(specially in the philippines,where most if not all dobe bloodlines are american & or german x american-from south american bloodlines).and based on history & genetics- let us remember that,Herr louis freidrick dobermann of thuringia apolda germany,the father of the breed-used mainly 3 principal breeds in the dobermann's genetic make up,which includes-the Rottweiler (for size,courage,loyalty & STEADY NERVES),german smooth haired pinscher (for speed reaction,which is also said later on that he add the greyhound) & the black & tan terrier/standard manchester terrier (for tenacity & aggressiveness).it is not unknown in the dog world also that herr dobermann used a greyhound for the dobermann's concoction later on,which some experts believe leads to the fact that most dobermann's have a chiseled body with tucked up underbellies,running speed & the greyhound's timidity & highstrung nature also (on the negative side).

Compared to the dobermann,which is a man-made breed,the rottweiler evolved,as a purebred,naturally.with which,as most "natural breed",they evolved based on what nature has intended them,amidst the rigors of life.

The advantage of the Dobermann to the Rottweiler is very evident,based on the their obvious form-it is lighter,leggier & has a faster reaction threshhold so it is capable of great speed,jumping ability & agility-which makes them better watchdogs not to mention noisier than the rotts,they are leaner than the rotts giving them more stamina & less sensitive to the tropical weather & since its more "sculpted" in a smooth outline,it is more prominent in winning conformation Shows.

but when u talk about steadiness of nerves,strength & working character,its obvious that the rottweiler has it

at one time i brought my rott at the range sige buto buto at first curios siya nahebong siya and nag observe sa sorroundings after how many minutes eya ra ge katolgan ang buto buto,very relax and confident he is wala gyud sign na ge nervous

mao gnahan nakow sa rott they are a thinking dog and courageous kaayo! sa amoa balay tapad rami og firing range as in tapad ra jud kaayo nga atbang ra sa amoa blay ang mga tinga mangalagpot sa amoa atop sa sige og buto2x wla ra jud ang amoa rott idk if na anad or di lng jud talawan!

These days,i agree. but before during world wars,doberman and gsd dominated all working dogs,they were officially used as war dogs and its because they are very capable of doing military work than any dog breed. talking about steadiness of nerves,strength and agility at the same time,high prey drive and of course the working character its very obvious that doberman has it "before". unfortunately, the old doberman's that used to be so good and very capable of working are already gone, breeders bred them away from their working capabilities, instead they bred dobies for beauty.which is so nonsense. Europe are trying to revive their working capabilities,even if they can breed a good dobie but it wont be good as dobermans before. but still they can work they still even participated in schutzhund but yea i know they are not good as mals,gsd's and rotts.

And yea ur right,rottweiler has it than doberman when it comes to working now a days. but lets not forget how the dobie dominated rottweilers in working before and how good the dobie was
