Telegraph.co.uk: Last June, French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie proposed sharing sensitive military technology with Beijing. She called for a softening of the arms embargo imposed on the country after the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989. …It's also said the ever-closer military ties rendered the EU embargo a relic from the last century.

mkaapas cla in terms of economy but in terms of status sa US i think dugay pa na. considering they are the most populous country. it boils down to per capita income. they might be closer to US but not surpass IMHO. but if theyll continue to cut down the population we'll never what may happen in 30 yrs.

Mao ng barato kaayo ang product sa China. Pero one's na mu saka ang value sa kwarta nila, mu mahal napud ang ilang products, then China will go down for sure.. Naa prediction ang ubang economista na mu collapse pud ang economy sa China, kay di sad forever ila ma hold ang value sa ila kwarta.
What they are doing is nothing new. It's called mercantilism, a strategy that was used by all present tiger economies (S. Korea, Taiwan) at one time. The key here is that they won't have to keep this policy forever, but the advantages they've racked up will persist long after they abandon the fixed rate and will have already done considerable damage to countries like ours that have wildly fluctuating rates. Malaysia also uses a fixed regime, and they haven't collapsed. This is the difference between smart policymakers and our policymakers here who don't seem to have a clue how to run a country properly.

China has a very interesting mix in the way they do economy... from being communist but remain very open to the world. Its mystifying , how everything is placed together. Although we will never know what goes on in the backround. Humane? , Is it worth being number one with the amount of things being sacrificed? its up to each individual to decide. In closing, I thought the numbers spelled China being a superpower years ago.
