Cabinet moves to cut oil tariff, eyes other measures

The Department of Energy plans to reduce tariff on petroleum products by 1 percentage point to 2 percent this week and further by 3 percentage points, depending on the movement of oil prices in the world market.

The tariff reduction is among the short-term measures being considered by the government to help cushion the impact of rising global prices without sacrificing government revenues.

The tariff cut is based on certain triggers indexed to oil prices in the world market. The 1 percentage point tariff reduction last month led to a P0.50 per liter drop in the price of diesel.

The tariff cut was restored when the triggers reached a certain level two weeks ago.
World oil prices hit high levels anew, reaching almost $72 per barrel for Dubai in the past few days following continued geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

oi i thought i saw an electric car kanang 2-seater ra bitaw sa may mabolo! i saw lang sa TV na i-charge lang siya. Nag think ko giunsa sa tag-iya pag charge sa iya awto? basin nag dala siya adapter or sumptin... basta chuy kaayo bai. 40kmh ra nuon ang max speed niya, pero ok na kaayo for city driving lang. :mrgreen:
