Mavericks 2010-2011 Schedule released:
DALLAS—The Dallas Mavericks announced their 2010-11 season schedule today, which includes 10 games on ESPN, six on TNT and eight on NBATV.
Dallas begins its 31st season on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at home as they take on the Charlotte Bobcats. It also marks the 10th season at American Airlines Center.
The Mavericks 10 ESPN telecasts include Nov. 19 vs. Chicago, Dec. 3 at Utah, Dec. 15 vs. Portland, Dec. 17 vs. Phoenix, Jan. 14 at San Antonio, Jan. 19 vs. L.A. Lakers, Feb. 4 at Boston, Mar. 16 at Golden State, Mar. 27 at Phoenix and Apr. 6 vs. Denver.
TNT features the Mavericks six times. Those games are Dec. 30 vs. San Antonio, Jan. 6 vs. Oklahoma City, Jan. 20 at Chicago, Feb. 10 at Denver, Feb. 17 at Phoenix and Mar. 31 at L.A. Lakers.
Dallas also has eight televised games on NBATV. They are Nov. 6 vs. Denver, Nov. 20 at Atlanta, Nov. 29 vs. Houston, Dec. 11 vs. Utah, Dec. 20 at Miami, Jan. 29 vs. Atlanta, Mar. 12 vs. L.A. Lakers and Apr. 3 at Portland.
The remaining portion of the Mavericks local television schedule for games on TXA21, Fox Sports Southwest and HDNet will be released at a later date. All games can be heard on ESPN 103.3 FM and on KFLC (1270 AM) in Spanish.
After tipping-off the season at home vs. Charlotte, Dallas finds itself staying in the friendly confines of the American Airlines Center the majority of November and December. From the start of the season through the end of December, the Mavericks have just 12 games on the road compared to 19 games at home. Eastern Conference contenders come to town in November as Boston and Miami make their lone appearances on Nov. 8 and Nov. 27, respectively. During December 7-17, Dallas has a six-game home stand, its longest of the year.
February and March finds the team on the road a great deal. In fact, Dallas only plays at home three times out of its 12 total games in February. March may be the team's toughest month with a season-high tying 16 total games, nine of them away and a season-high five back-to-backs. During that month, Dallas sees Western Conference foes L.A. Lakers and Golden State two times each and faces San Antonio, Utah, Portland and Phoenix once. At the end of March and into the beginning of April, the team goes on its longest road trip of the year -- a six-game/10-day jaunt west playing four playoff teams from a year ago.
The Mavericks have 20 back-to-backs again this season. In total, 11 of them are on the road, six begin at home and conclude on the road and three are away-home. Eight of Dallas' back-to-backs occur after the All-Star Break.

MAVERICKS: Inside Report: Chandler captivates for Team USA, again
Big step by big step -- two-handed dunk after emphatic blocked shot -- Tyson Chandler continues to inch closer to a spot on the USA Men's national team that will compete in the FIBA World Championship held in Turkey beginning on Aug. 28.
His latest conquest came Thursday night during Team USA's Blue-White scrimmage in the World Basketball Festival held at Radio City Music Hall in New York. While the team took the court on a platform stage, the 7-foot-1 Chandler entered the second round of training and eventual cuts with a personal platform -- the newly acquired Dallas Mavericks center and participant with Team USA in 2007 was looking to continue to prove doubters wrong after battling through nagging injuries in each of the past two NBA seasons.
Fittingly, Thursday night it was Chandler's powerful two-handed finish off a lob pass from point guard Rajon Rondo that broke a 47-all tie in sudden-death overtime to seal the victory for the Blue squad. It was just an exclamation mark as Chandler, one of 15 finalists for the 12-man roster to be named by Aug. 26, continued to prove that he belongs with the best that Team USA has to offer.
"I've been training since two weeks after the season and getting better and better. I'm healthy now, feeling great," Chandler said last month before training with the team in Las Vegas. "It's an incredible opportunity. Whenever you can explain to your kids that you played for the USA team, it's a wonderful achievement."
Now, Chandler hopes his play was enough to keep him around with three more players slated to be cut from the team when it heads overseas.
"Tyson did a lot for us when we qualified in 2007...He's much stronger than he was in 2007 and I thought he played well," coach Mike Krzyzewski said of the big man's play since training began last month. "He does all the things to compliment our perimeter players, so he has a chance to be really important for us."
"A couple of years ago when I did it, it was one of the most exciting moments of my career -- just to be out there with those guys and compete everyday in practice," Chandler said. "It will be good because it will be the best of the best out there."
Up next for the USA squad is a five-game exhibition tour. On Aug. 15 the team will match up against France at Madison Square Garden, followed by a closed scrimmage against China, a back-to-back against Lithuania and Spain in Madrid Aug. 21-22 and a final exhibition matchup against Greece in Athens on Aug. 25, which is just a day before the roster must be finalized.
