yep there might just be a way. keeping your snake in a small enclo might be one but coupled with a few other factors might just do the trick though i think it would be to the detriment of your pet. First is to limit the food supply of your python and the food size. Giving it large prey items would give it more nutrients to grow bigger but at the same time push you snake to necessarily grow bigger to accommodate easily similar prey items whereas smaller prey items would mean less food = less growth. Also place you snake terrarium in a cool place so that metabolism of your snake is slow, digestion is slow=growth is slow. These are though the drawbacks. Lesser food might make your snake skinny and thus prone to various reptilian diseases, lesser food might also make your snake more temperamental or vicious.....trying to bite or eat anything that moves (including your hand). Keeping the snake in a too cool a place might also cause indigestion which in turn would cause food rotting inside the snake's tummy and in the long run poisoning =death. A hungry snake is also not fit for breeding as female snakes must be slightly overweight prior to breeding since they starve during the incubation period which may last up to 4 months. All these above mentioned methods does not stop you snake's growth but rather only delays the growth process. However if you really want a smaller python then the burmese python just doesnt seem to be the one you are looking for, try settling for a boa or better yet a ball python, children's python and if you want a vicious short python then try the blood python. hehehe,

i must agree that it is part of this weird hobby...getting bitten. And yes even tamed snakes bite for several other reasons. Like when it is about to shed its skin coz aside nga its eyes tend to get even more hazier due to the cloudy ossicles, its skin is just starting to grow a new layer so medyo hapdos pa na. Try to communicate with your snake bai, train it na before picking it up, you tap first on the mid part of the body. They sometimes bite due to the sudden grasp of a warm hand as their body is cold. Tapping will tell your snake nga ikaw maoy mu handle nya. Though on the first few parts of taming a snake, better yet use a snake hook and not your hand to pick it up to avoid accidental bites. Dont approach from the front as well kay they might see you as a threat or a food item. Basta in doubt, use a hook and slowly lay your snake on your palm, once your snake gets used to such, frequencies of biting attacks gets fewer and fewer.....basta take note ra gyud nga bites are part of the snake keepers consequences.
