nothing against the reggae music scene, i've been part of it for the last 8 years.. lahi lang gyud sa una, ug karon... irony is, a lot of my friends who know a LOT of reggae are not in dreadlocks.. although i know dreadlocked folks who know a LOT of jamaican music as well.. point is, u don't have to be dreadlocked or smoke weed or be rastafarian to appreciate reggae music..

Cebu maybe considered as the reggae capital of the philippines simply because a lot of the reggae bands emerging today in the philippines are from cebu, although, cebuanos don't practice the rastafarian way of life. Reggae music is not necessarily for rastafarians, as the greaT Bob Marley once saiD "REGGAE IS THE PEOPLE'S MUSIC". so if cebu is to be the so called reggae capital Of the philippines so let it be. just make sure that as cebuanos we dont totally copy what the jamaicans do but instead lets improvise to make another kind of reggae music that can be identified as cebuano or filipino. using ones dialect is one example but if we have to use the english language lets strive to sound filipino and always be proud to be one. Another way is to write songs of our country's dilemma or our rich history reggae style.. that would surely make the song "filipino"... again just be proud of who you are instead of being somebody your not then you wouldn't be considered a wanna be....
