The dog is under anesthesia during the cropping procedure so he doesn't feel a thing. After the anesthesia wears off then he will be back to his old self, as if nothing has changed. Maybe he needs some time to adjust to the tapes on his ears but it will pass. I have two doberman and both are cropped. One might argue that cropping has some medical or health reason but for me its purely aesthetics. They're my dogs and I get to choose what I do with them. Its similar to circumcision, some cultures doesn't do it but we do. Our parents made the choice for us and we will make the choice for our son/s. If cropping and tail docking will be outlawed in the Phil then no more doberman for me. For me, a doberman is not a doberman if it is not cropped and docked. Bottomline its the choice of the owner.
