yes i agree with blur, Dead Poet's Society, we had it as a featured film for our routine film showing when I was in highschool.
you see maam, I was frustrated with my fellow classmates when I was in highshcool bec I know all of us are smart, but not all of us are bookish or bookworms.and im a big bookworm!
when i was in highschool, we had this Gems textbook for literature(actually our subject was called Reading), our teacher would have us write about what we have understood about this particular short story or essay, we would discuss it, sometimes we do have plays inside our classroom. and yes film showing is very very much effective.
but what i like most about my reading subjects in highschool is that, our teachers would never just let us read what was in our textbooks. i believe they would choose something we could not easily forget. bec until now, after seven years, those short stories, poems, those songs, plays and those film showings that we had would suddenly be our topic on our mini-reunions

Fill the room with lots of books, perhaps put a reading nook. Make the nook inviting, maybe a mat and some pillows and a shelf full of books. NBS tried this and it worked on young readers. I'm an avid reader myself just like my sisters and brothers, but our parents never commanded us to read. They just had this shelf full of books, and being curious, we started taking them down and reading them, and we became fanatics.

I had this in mind..but our school I guess does not adhere to this...Let me just put it, we are minimalist in terms of displays..Our rooms are really clean...tiled and we can only put displays on bulletin boards...but I will talk this out with the principal as this will take on another budget for the racks...Thanks, by the way...
