    Default what to do?

has stopped using my two credit cards since 2008 when i had to give up my job for health reasons. But i had been a good payer prior to that crisis. I have received demand letters from the various collecting agencies of the two companies after a few months. i started to give payments per month but cant sustain due to lack of income in the family. Last December the new collecting agent of one of my CCs sent me a demand letter. They demanded that i pay 5K per month but i said that is not possible with only my husband earning for the family. We settled for a 2K. But when i asked if we can put it in writing to assure me that my debt reduces everytime i pay, i was told that they cannot make that document yet since the amount i can pay does not conform to the CC company's required payment. I paid just the same. Then in Feb this year, the same collecting agency (its a law firm as a matter of fact), called me in behalf of the other CC company. So my two CCs are in one law firm. This time, they are also demanding for a minimum of 2K per month. and the similar story of no document was heard from the agent (a different one). Since i started to pay 2K in Feb, i had to forego the payment for the other CC. Because of limited income i can only pay one at a time. But in the last three months i could no longer pay any of the two. My kids are already in school and my mother is on medication for her heart ailment. It is difficult to make ends meet so the necessities have to be addressed first.

Per my discussion with my husband, he said we can spare P500 each per month for the CCs. That's the best amount we can pledge and really be able to pay instead of the very high 2K each and eventually end up not paying anything.

Should i just automatically start paying P500 per card? or should i still align with the collecting agents? One CC is at P98K while the other is at P72K including all the accrued interest and charges...

Im worried that i get subpoenas in the next few days.. Please enlighten me...

my sister-in-law has her CC debt upto 100k+. A law firm has sent demand letters couple of times, upto now she still has not paid a single peso, no subpoenas came, and that was three years ago.
