Yeah i've actually heard of this.. in fact we wanted to have an activity like this in school (i go to USCTC).. but then our SAS coordinator wasnt really that convinced with the idea. It's a really good fundraiser bya.. a little complicated lang with the details because there really are rules to follow. like during the 3-minute or so interaction u have with the opposite ***, u can't ask for his/her number, address, email, etc. all questions on likes, personality. u can only get info from the person from the organizers and IF he/she (the participant) likes u too.
there's this org in manila who's really conducting this regularly and they actually mentioned in their website that they're willing to bring their services here if another org is going to team up with them. just forgot what site that was.
anyway, if anyone's interested to orgranize this, id really be glad to join in the organizing
hay wag nyo na pansinin yan si herzebar kay mao gani junior na na...i think the senior got in trouble....
ako i am for it. iba na panahon ngayon..wala na pakiyeme-kiyeme. maganda sana bitaw ni i-fund-raising. kakaiba gyud kung ikaw ang FIRST nigawa nito sa cebu. and even more kakaiba if it was a smashing success (sa sobrang dami nating professional organizers dito...syaro papalpak pa ito! hehehehe pssttt...pro bono kayo ha. hehehehe)
As for me, it doesn't mean that we should do what others are doing, or "iba na ang panahon ngayon..." stuffs... We should be original and creative...
And about speed dating, you're making a business out of the person's inability to strive and look for his match or partner.... There are other ways that young persons or singles meet, like joining YFC or SFC... or just meeting and knowing a person the conventional way...
We should be helping the low esteemed persons to develop their self confidence, not financially taking advantage with their shyness...
when i said iba na ang panahon...i meant dear nga more juliets are out there searching for their romeos.  there is nothing wrong with copying...UNLESS it is copyrighted.  and if we are first in doing it here in cebu...then there is no copying eh?Originally Posted by Sanosuke
besides...we have had fund-raising activities in the past that were NOT original.. tiangge... concerts...etc.
Eh?  There are hundreds of websites there na nagpapabayad para lang maghanap ng partner.  I do not think that the people who join these activities and/or websites are "desperados" who cannot do it the "conventional" way....in fact...I think these are people who are busy and are smart enough to realize that there are now ways and means to actually cut the cost of the "dating game."  DONT TELL ME that dating is inexpensive now-a-days.  Kami nga lang ng anak ko mag-date...200p sa McDo for lunch PLUS about 200-300p for Time Zone PLUS merienda pa which costs around another 100-200p.  That is MINIMUM of 500p and my date is a TWO-YEAR-OLD. hahahahahhahaOriginally Posted by Sanosuke
In today's paper...Jessica Biel(?) was offering a date with her to the highest bidder. ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE. Ay mahal na date yan....hehehehehe
I believe that the "fee" to be collected will first and foremost PAY for the VENUE...ang drink pa diay? Alangan naman tubig lang ang imnun di va?
Sanosuke...male ka or female?  It doesnt matter actually coz most females now are willing to share in the date expenses.  Going dutch is good.  Wala kang...what was that my friend said once..."utang kabobot-on."  And you can drop the guy if you dont like him coz after all....you contributed.
Oh goodness! These people are not shy at all!
