ako dili pa... so far, kontento pa ko sa akong 3200+ 939... basin inig ka phase out na sa tanang single cores... ayha pa ko mag-upgrade to dual core... by that time, i don't know if conroe still leads the benches...
the results are really compelling.....
it consumes less power
and the performance can not be argued.....
problem is i can't use my DDR400 memory
my AGP card won't be useful also
so upgrading to a core 2 duo (not anymore conroe)
would require
a new motherboard
new video card
new memory....
damn have to save more money...............
In gaming doesnt help much unless you play at resolutions lower than 1280x1024 ( say 1024x768 ) since our games are more on GPU bound. If your upgrading to Conroe for a better gaming experience prepare to be dissapointed ( unless you own a relic machine already )
i agree with Earlz.
gaming benchmarks at 1600X1200 show a significant increase.......
upgrading to conroe means i have to replace not only my mobo but my DDR400 RAM pud..so maski kuyaw ang conroe, im still happy with my OCed venice 3000+ so kung mag upgrade man cguro ko..it'd be an Athlon64 X2 3800 or whatever makaya sabudget..plus 1 gig pa nga RAM.
but if the point of the question is biyaan ba nako ang AMD for CONROE when the time comes nga mag upgrade ko ug full system..yes.(that is if wala gihapon tubag ang AMD sa CONROE) .after all, wala man koy kontrata with AMD..hehehe
i'll wait till the price of the more reliable ddr2s go down.
From what i have read the benefits on lower res where in the CPU is the limiting factor or in res HIGHER than 1600x1200 with a quad SLI system. at 1600x1200 alone it doesnt warrant the cost of the upgrade.Originally Posted by dagget
i am referring to the cpu.............
quad sli was never an efficient gaming option......... its increase over standard sli was never more than 12% and sometimes its even less than standard sli..........
