Default After wang-wang, now it's number coding exemptions

Number coding faces review; MMDA to recall all exemptions - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos
A DAY AFTER he took office, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Francis Tolentino ordered Wednesday the recall of all number coding exemptions issued to selected motorists pending a review.

MMDA spokesperson Yves Gonzalez said that Tolentino was surprised when he learned that of the 8,900 exemptions that had been issued for the third quarter, 75 percent were for government officials and employees.

“How did the number get to be this big? Please take note, these are private cars owned by government officers and employees. We also learned that there was an instance in which a requesting official was given 40 coding exemptions for private vehicles,” he told the Inquirer in an interview.
