    Default pls help on encrypted back up files


    maybe wrong section ni pero mao man gud ni place nga i think daghan makatabang ani ako problema.

    this is the situation

    naa ko gi ayo computer, ang problem kay usahay mo boot usahay mohang nalang. i checked everything na, system restore, start up, services, uninstalled 3 antivirus kay nagdungan man ug andar sa owner, check disk di mogana, basta paminaw nako reformat nalang jud kulang.

    the owner ni agree pero iyang bilin lang is "please dont loose my files" foreigner man gd. they left the house and left me in charge.

    karon ako na gi back up 5GB+ nga files naa sa drive c: and sa drive d: wala ra hilabti.

    ang files sa C: kay ako gibutang sa akong external HDD kay 1GB nalang ang free sa iyang d:

    Now, running fine na ang system BUT by the time ako na i copy balik ang back up folder balik sa iyang drive c:

    gipaningot ko ug bugbog kay wala jud ko kabantay ENCRYPTED contents as in tanan jud.

    the BIG problem now, unsaon man ko ning 5GB+ files puro raba jud pictures ug docs.
    nipilit naman ni sa akong external HDD

    i know close to impossible na jud ni

    please help me.

    thank goodness na solve na jud. ni work jud ang "Advanced EFS" sector by sector scan. luckily nakit an jud ang key to decrypt the files. pwerte jud lipaya sa owner and ako sad naibtan sad ug tunok.

    as of now naa pa jud ko sa house sa owner, saonz naman ni oi

    unsa OS ana bro? try daw "take ownership" ana na folder after copying it back to his computer.

    How to take ownership of a file or a folder in Windows XP

    have you tried that? just as spookey said, take ownership...

    havnt tried that pero i will try it now. naa naman ko sa balay. im using win7 so easy ra ang take ownership.

    i hope it can solve.

    by the way, pwerte jud guola sa owner. na stress daw xa pagkahibaw niya. mura jud ko na guilty kay maayo baya xa nako

    murag lisod gyud na nga problema. need man gud nag certificate para ma decrypt na.

    so naa pa ang mga files sa external HD?
    medyo lisod ni nga method pero i try daw,
    kahibaw ka pag.add ko user sa certificate?
    pero dapat ka admin account gamiton..
    wait sa ha ako pagitaon ang ako notes...

    How to decrypt encrypted Windows files



    Decrypt and recover files protected with the Encrypting File System (EFS) -> this might now help cause so far you formatted old pc...



    follow some of this... might help.
