tungod guro ky ang machine is run by binary codes then i.compute using algorithms which is a set mathematical equations then output ang data na readable by humans.
ako2x ra sad na ha... d man gud ko mau ani comp.. hehehe
even the letters on the screen or per pixel is represented by 8bits of 0 and 1
good in math but poor in logic, bad in programming
bad in math but excellent in logic, good in programming
good in math, good in logic, excellent in programming
good in math?, i hate math and im a programmer...
dli man na cguro ang topic bai, good in math - good in programming man,
dli kay good in math not a programmer..
pero i think the best programmers in the world are undoubtly best in math..
developers/programmers for;
author of c++ or java
developers for flash
developers for Photoshops
develoeprs for VLC or any media players
developers for Starcraft and diablo 3 or any other games
etc.
And i think those who are saying that math is not needed for programming are mostly people who are
USING Frameworks, APIs and 3rd party tools like
PHP,ASP, or any web framework such as Struts
or download free libraries and utilities online without the effort of learning the details inside.
one basic example is displaying Bitmap Image. For some it is easy and involves a single line
of of API call, to others it involves a different process.
Lastly, Programming is writing instructions to the "Computer" and for the latter to execute.
PS: mura ra na sa katng akng kaila na "SENIOR PROGRAMMER" na sa isa ka IT company sa cebu then gi interview cya sa isa ka daku na US-based IT company nya ang pangutana kay;
"DO you know about OOP concepts like inheritance,etc."
ang gitubag kay
"Yes of course but in real world inheritance is not being used.." Bang! wala na dawat!
nganong nakaingon man cya ? kay PHP developer man cya, bisag ang PHP capable na ug Object Oriented, wla ghapon na practice nya sa
iyang mga project.. in fact Senior Programmer cya.

by reading this thread carefully, makita na kung kinsa to mga maau sa logic (ug english hehe). unya common foundation ra ba intawn na sa duha - math ug programming.
i dont use framework that are publicly available i developed my own framework na OOP... so disagree jud ko sa imo giingon...
i dont trust those OS frameworks..,. unless my clients really insist it....
PHP is still nude to be exact you still need to dress it up, i dont consider it easy, while ASP since its microsoft expect that it comes with its own dress....
i know math sometimes required in programming but reality you rarely use that... or only use the simplier way...
those complicated mathematical programming are usually in 3d... if you really want a number crunching program use FORTRAN...
either way i still believe that it requires to a mathematical genius to be programmer....
try using Assembly language to display a Dynamic GUI box diba mag nosebleed ka.... ang imo code kung i print nimo kuwang ra ang usa ka rim...
again math should not be the basis to be a good programmer unless 3d programming kay dapat naa jud math... sa programming... diskartehay rana.... tame it and use it....
how many of you here use complicated math to display a data fetch from database?
how many of you here use complicated math to make a interactive website?
