another update re changes on Wade's contract extension:

Wade expected to sign shorter contract with Heat
    ESPN.com news services

Dwyane Wade could be following LeBron James' lead.

Wade, who reportedly agreed to a five-year, $80 million max extension with the Miami Heat last week, is instead expected to sign a three-year deal with a player option for a fourth season, ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported Tuesday.

Earlier this week, sources told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that James had agreed to a three-year extension worth approximately $60 million, with a player option for a fourth season (rather than what was reported earlier as James being able to opt out of a four-year deal).

On Monday, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported that Carmelo Anthony was also considering signing a contract extension with the Denver Nuggets similar to the deal James intends to sign with Cleveland.

Wade is under contract for next season with the Heat, who will try to defend their first NBA championship. Wade has repeatedly said he wants to stay in Miami. Other than coach Pat Riley saying that getting Wade to agree to an extension is Miami's top offseason priority, the team has not commented on the negotiation process.

Wade was the fifth pick in the 2003 draft, and his rise to stardom was quick. He averaged a career-best 27.2 points during the regular season, making 49.5 percent of his shots, plus averaging 6.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds.

In the playoffs, he was even better, averaging 28.4 points -- and 34.7 in the NBA Finals, when he led the Heat past the Dallas Mavericks in six games.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

A 4-year $25million. Now the Wolves will have to unload a guard to make way for James. The Wolves backcourt is comprised of James, Troy Hudson, Marko Jaric, Ricky Davis (though he can play the 3), Trenton Hassell, Randy Foye, and Rashad McCants (though he's be gone for 3-4 months).

I don't know if James is worth it though, they need somebody in the middle. They could've spent more on their need with Magloire on the trading block. Aside from Mags, those who are rumored to be available are Chris Webber (old with a bloated contract), Adonal Foyle (overpaid role player), Steven Hunter (underachiever), and Jerome James (huh?).

Expect some trades and waivers comin'...

    ATL-DEN-GS Trade Talk

With the Maryland judge lifting the case of the Hawks dismay to a breathable allowance in signing players for not more than 4 years, it looks like Al Harrington is now going somewhere. And Denver is trying to become the third team that Atlanta needs to complete the trade. I don't know what's gonna happen though, but i think this is more likely:

    Hawks receive Kenyon Martin
    Warriors receive Harrington
    Nuggets receive Troy Murphy+cash

    @ SQUiDnine

klaro na jud na ang trade Hawks-Warriors-Nuggets bai?

Di pa cgurado ang trade oi, that's what I think lang. The Hawks want to get Andre Miller+1st round pick more likely pero di na msugot ang Denver. They are willing to unload Martin because of his attitude, conflicting vision with coach George Carl and a bloated salary. The Hawks may let Martin walk and save the money for free agency signings, while the Warriors acquire the services of Harrington who is more effective of a new environment and with All-Stars sorrounding him.

sa Warriors kai kompletos rekados na! naa na silay SF! pero, kinsa ila PF?si Foyle pa ba japon ila sentro

Yes, center nila si Foyle. Troy Murphy is there starting PF, but with the improvement of rookie Ike Diogu, they might as well give him the opportunity to play more minutes. And of course, they may put Adonal Foyle on the trading block since he's been struggling on court and rookie Patrick O'Bryant may start to see how he fares. If the trade talk is still ongoing and the Warriors may have to unload a SF to make way for Harrington, this might be it:

    Hawks receive Martin+cash
    Nuggets receive Foyle+Dunleavy
    Warriors receive Harrington+DEN 1st pick

grabehang Morrison sa Summer League oi! 25 pts man sa first half! ug si Earl Barron sad sa Miami Heat, kuyaw! 33pts 15rebs

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody from those line-ups scores more than a 50+. It's the Summer League. Though impressive performances are delightful for the management who drafted, the NBA environment is different from that. Barron can be a force if he plays that way, but Zo has more experience and his defensive presence is a menace to everybody. He's old though and is retiring. While Morrison is a complete player for the Bobcats, he can be one of the most impressive rookies this season.

ngutana lang ko kung mao ba ning Earl Barron nga import sa RedBull sa PBA?

Yep. He was with Red Bull Barakos. He helped them became the champions in the PBA Fiesta Cup back in June 12, 2005.

    Anthony Signs Multi-Year Contract Extension

NUGGETS FORWARD WAS ALL-NBA PERFORMER LAST SEASON

DENVER, Jul. 12 -- Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony signed a multi-year contract extension, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

“Carmelo is an outstanding young man, both on and off the basketball court,” said Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke. “Our fans should know that we are committed to bringing a championship to Denver and we believe Carmelo is a key piece of that puzzle. We’re delighted to have him under contract for many years to come.”

Anthony led the Nuggets to the Northwest Division Title last season, the club’s first division title since the 1987-88 season. The Nuggets have also reached the postseason for three-straight seasons since Anthony’s arrival in 2003. Prior to that, the Nuggets had missed the playoffs the previous nine years.
