here's the latest update on this issue:

Chinese President Appeals to North Korea
By AUDRA ANG, Associated Press Writer

BEIJING - China's president issued an unusual public appeal Tuesday to a visiting North Korean leader to avoid aggravating tensions with its missile test program, as the U.S. and Japan urged Beijing to press its ally Pyongyang for concessions.

Meanwhile, U.S. nuclear envoy Christopher Hill arrived in Beijing for his second visit in a week amid urgent diplomatic exchanges, saying talks were in a "crucial period." He said he had no plans to meet with the North Korean official.

President Hu Jintao told the visiting vice president of the North's parliament, Yang Hyong Sop, "We are against any actions that will aggravate the situation. We hope that relevant parties will do more things conducive to the peace and stability of the peninsula," according to the official Xinhua News Agency.

Hu said Beijing is "seriously concerned" and called for progress in stalled six-nation talks over the North's nuclear program.

The warning by Hu, who rarely speaks publicly about North Korea, represented an unusually firm stance by Beijing and appeared to reflect growing frustration with its unruly ally.

even if they succesfully topple nokor government, what's next? it will be disasterous to sokor and china. nokor economy is close to nothing. and it will be china and sokor responsibility to take care of north koreans.

some US senators interviewed on CNN already expressed support on accepting 200-300K N Korean refugees if China or S Korea helps in facilitating their transfer. other countries ie Great Britain and other allies, I think, would follow suit.
and what will happen to seoul when the americans 'do their things?' similar to the fate of the now annihilated nokor military sturctures. sokor capital is just 30 miles from dmz. as for the us senators it's close to nothing but grandstanding or lip-service and the number of refugees they will take, if it will happen, is insignificant. china and sokor will be deluded with hungry refugees. sokor robust economy will suffer worst than what happened during germany reunification. that's one of the reason why sokor does not want nokor central government to collapse. to change, yes. collapse, no.

^ Japan is pressuring the U.S. for a pre-emptinve strike. Japan sayzz...If you (U.S.) cant do it...give us the necessary arsenal so we could go ahead w/ the pre-emptive strike.

Hmmmm..Arming the Japanese Military especially nukes is not a wise choice. During WWII, the Japanese Military was a formidable force. We dont want them to be a loose canon again.

i doubt it. you don't need nuke in this case, pre-emptive strike against nokor. and it's against japan's constitution to have nuclear weapon or to have an offensive military. also they are the only country in the world that was hit by a nuclear bomb.
