MediaPortal is an Open Source application ideal for turning your PC / TV into a very advanced Media Center. MediaPortal allows you to listen to your favorite music & radio, watch and store your videos and DVDs, view, schedule and record live TV as a digital video recorder and much much more. You get MediaPortal as Open Source software. This means you can help develop MediaPortal or tweak-it for your own needs whith lots of innovating plugins from our great community.

Think of it as XBMC(Xbox) for PC. It's not a new project and has been around for some time. I've followed it's development ever since it found it months ago. My interest in it was rekindled as I finally found an USB adapter port for an Xbox remote control.

Anyone used this already and made a pc as their mediacenter? Am planning to convert one of my pcs into one (maybe buy one of those small barebone systems (like Shuttle with the lowest power consumption) and make it into a mediacenter which I can connect to my home network. I've found that XBMC (Xbox) and SMS (PS2) still lack some things which make them a perfect media center for me.

Update: Just found out that MediaPortal can now utilitze Xbox Remote Control using XBCDRC Plugin v1.0.1! This is great for those who have the Xbox Remote Control already
